[He seems to be doing a bit better, though he seems slightly haggard, like he'd been stressed lately. Obviously, between being haunted by physical manifestations of guilt, to the cave in, plus the nonsense that had just happened...losing Dorian did bother him, and he dealt with all of this the best way he knew how. The Work.]
For future reference, to anyone out there... if there's a strange murder, or any sort of mystery--call me.
Don't bother if it's a boring one.
I'm taking about locked room mysteries, weird stuff, the inexplicable.
If it's over a 7 I may even personally, actually go outside to have a look.

Back home, people kept investigating even after the knew who did it and he was dead. I didn't see the point in that.

Were they trying to get evidence? Myself, I've identified a murderer but it was still necessary to dig up evidence or wheedle out a confession before it would stick.

For example, a sportsman, recently returned from foreign travel, is out in the middle of nowhere, watching something in the sky. A lone car on the road is having engine trouble and backfires. The lone car's owner looks up and the sportsman is dead.
How did it happen? Simple. A boomerang. The backfiring car caught his attention and as he was waiting for his boomerang to return, missed it because he was looking at the car--bashed him in the head, which caused him to fall and also crack his head on the rocks.

Ouch. What a way to go. Please tell me you just made that up.

And no, all true. It was an unfortunate accident that baffled the police.

If it's anything less than a seven, he'll send me out to have a look for him.

If prompted and given the necessary clues. Sometimes he needs help.
[Sherlock says this cheerfully. He's just happy John's okay.]

[ he's joking of course. maybe. ]
Found anything interesting?

You might not get much of anything when there is an entire division of law enforcement dedicated to complicated cases. [ Welcome to America. ] What are your credentials? [ Now he's just being pedantic but Sherlock did address the network as if they're all supposed to cure his nuerotic obsession with puzzles by spoonfeeding him some. ]

[ Excuse you? Who does this arrogant brat think he is now? ]
You're not the only detective here, buddy.
[ And what is this rating system for murders? At his worst he was lazy and unmotivated, but when shit actually happened, he got off his ass! And did real work! The guy hasn't even replied yet, and Adachi's already annoyed. ]

[Well, him and John Watson, in his not-so-humble opinion.]

[ ...was this what it was like for Dojima-san to deal with him? Geeze, no wonder he got hit all the time. That was another apology to add to the pile. ]
