My name is Zelda, Princess Zelda of Hyrule...if anyone can hear this please, I need to return home. I've been told it's not possible but surely there must be some way.

[She worries her lip and tucks a side of her hair behind one pointed ear. There's a pause in her speech as she considers how best to move forward.]

The world I am from is in danger. A great Calamity has befallen my people and our Hero...Please, surely someone out there can help. If you can tell me how to return home, or at the very least if you have an advice on where I can begin looking for answers, I would greatly appreciate it.

So instead of taking people that are from similar places...it's choosing a theme? That is if it's even sentient enough to do the choosing...

It's complicated. The Goddess inside the porter is, well... kind of hard to pin down. Her name is Lachesis. Kanaya, who's been here longer than anyone else I know, says sometimes she plays favorites. That's why people who are ported out sometimes come back so soon. If she's conscious enough to do that, then there's no doubt she could just be having some fun right now. It's got to be pretty boring inside that vessel.

Or, well, that's the theory, anyway.

From my experience, such deities can be fickle as well. Perhaps this is a case of this goddess being bored, as you suggested. Though I am not sure I would count this as "entertainment" were I to be in her place.
