--subject seems to have no unique properties...[The video comes into focus mid-way through, featuring Zelda hunched over a desk, furiously taking notes.

She sighs after a moment, moving to pick up something from the side of her desk—a frog.]

I was really hoping there would be something special...those back home would improve speed, performance, attack...and yet, nothing. I don’t know how I’ll manage to make any useful elixir without specialized ingredients.

[She frowns, poking her amphibian specimen and laughing slightly as the frog croaked in response. She finally turns her attention to the camera.]

I don’t suppose any of you know of any animals or plants here that have special properties? Or where one might find some materials to experiment with? I would greatly appreciate any leads you might be able to provide.

[It was kinda hard to follow the situation. The way she is using the frog for will have her attention, but she doesn't seem to be doing anything malicious with it. Instead, she'll focus on her concerns.]

It depends by what your meaning of "special properties" are. Can you be more specific? Maybe someone may be able to help if we knew more about it.

[She's never heard of the word "elixir" before except in RPGs, but she won't make mention of that.]

Oh yes, I should have realized people may have different ideas of what I meant by that. [She got a bit ahead of herself really.]

Where I am from the wildlife--plants and animals alike--could be used in potions and elixirs. Depending on the properties an animal possessed the end result would be different. For example, a native species known as the hot-footed frog could be used to make a substance that would increase the user's speed momentarily.

Ah...was that enough information? I really could go on if need be.

Don't worry about it. It's always good to be open to discussion even if most of it may not make sense to some.

[She listens happily to the explanation, finding it fascinating to learn about special potions that can help increase certain aspects than simply being used to treat illnesses.]

Yeah, maybe. What I understood was -- it's like a kind of medicine except it's based more on helping someone becoming more skilled than simply healing them?

[It sounds a little like the pills Yuu once told her.]

How long does it take for it to take effect? Is there a limit on the amount you can ingest?

[Since her rain partner's could potentially kill him if he had too many in short amount of time.]

Ah...yes, that's a very apt description. Though some elixirs and potions can have healing properties as well--it all depends on the ingredients!

[She smiles brightly. She loves sharing her knowledge.]

Most effects are immediate, though there is a limit to how long an effect can last--the longest period I've seen was roughly half an hour. As far as I know there have been no adverse effects from ingesting multiple elixirs of the same type, but if they are different you have a higher chance of canceling out the boosts you've gained.

That makes sense! I think elixirs are a little different back in my world. I've heard they could be used to change the properties of certain metals to become gold while medicines known by that name are said to be very rare too. It's believe to create miracles.

[And since it sounds to be natural, she can't help wish to learn more about it. Just in case. It could be a good replacement to Yuu's medicines if the effects of the elixirs can be as long as half an hour compare to his five minutes.]

Are you trying to make some to sell or keep for emergencies?

I've never heard of such elixirs before, they sound rather fascinating. I would have loved to study such effects myself.

[She's actually a bit disappointed she doesn't have the opportunity to do so here.]

I would keep them for emergencies. At least that way I can distribute them to those that need them if such a time comes.

If I ever find out about an alchemist from home was around, then I'll sent them over to you. You could talk science with them! [Rubbing the back of her head a bit.] Um, sorry for not telling you much more about it. I only know that much from talking to the ones back at the palace I used to live in.

[There are times she wished her intelligence would match up with the amount of curiosity she had about her surroundings.]

Good idea! Is there anything I can do to help? I live over in De Chima and transit a lot to Heropa. Maybe I can help you find new ingredients to help you?

I would greatly appreciate that. It would be nice to learn more about their methods. [She smiles softly.] And of course, if you should wish to learn more from me I am all too willing to talk about the process more.

...Actually, finding new ingredients would be rather helpful. If you should find any plants, bugs, or any other natural elements that seem, well, out of the ordinary, you could either make a record of them or bring a specimen to me. Together we might manage to make some really good elixirs.

I may just take up on your offer whenever the opportunity comes up. I work the midnight shift at my job, but I do get free days off. What's your work schedule usually like?

Okay! I can do that. It shouldn't be too difficult to do both. I'll try my best to help you out with this. I want to learn more about this world too. This may be a good way to do so.

I work a varied schedule...And they wished to have me attend classes here as well, so perhaps it would be easiest to figure out what days you will have free and I can...plan around that.

...I appreciate the help you are offering. I think there is much we can learn by studying the wildlife here.

That sounds like a good idea! I'll let you know ahead of time whenever my next work schedule is available. But, how lucky that you get to take classes too though. What are they asking you to study more of?

I think so too. This world is already amazing! It has gone through so many advancements that I would've never been given the chance to use or learn of. It even rains here freely too! That's the even more amazing aspect I've found here. It really does rain any where!

So far it seems to be a general study? I am not quite sure how the school system operates here, or anywhere if I am honest. I always learned from private tutors...

Do you not have rain where you are from? Rain is hardly a scarcity where I am from--unless you are out in the Gerudo Desert, of course, but one can hardly expect rain in such a climate.
