At least that way you can be sure that it won't be able to disappoint you anymore.

[people could remain trapped in the past even if locked into a featureless void; Lapis of all people knew this far too well. but when she thinks of the way Homeworld, gems, had lurched forward to pull her back down into that dark space in her mind...there were certainly ways to move forward that were easier than others.]
