Hi, everyone. [And right now her name isn't important, she decides.] Um, I was thinking. School doesn't offer a whole lot in terms of practical skills so I was wondering if there were any classes offered out there. Like sewing, jewelry making, or photography. Maybe hunting or carpentry even. Is there anywhere to go for that? [Or as her tone narrowly implies anyone.]

I don't know about any classes. But I hunt. If you want to come with me sometime, I can show you the basics.

I was thinking more of in the class setting. But where is it you hunt close to?

[She's considering it, but not without being at least a little cautious.]

On my own, I usually travel to forests where hunting is permitted. If I had you with me, I'd go to a game preserve ranch. It's easier to hunt there, safer and they can help with the permit for you. There's one about an hour away from Heropa. They have whitetail deer, wild boar, pheasant, and a few other animals. I don't know if they have classes, but they have professional guides if you'd prefer that.

Hm. Using professional guides is a good idea. That would be more along the lines I'm thinking.

[She allows silence to fall for a few seconds before asking,] You have a name?

Look into the hunting ranches. The good ones'll have guides.

Sure. Sounds like something I can do this weekend before I decide anything.

How much do you know about hunting? [she's curious.]

A lot. I grew up hunting in Minnesota. For deer mostly. But also pheasant, wild turkeys, anything we could eat.

I see. You won't mind if I call you when I time, then. And see what I need to do first.

Yeah, you can call me.

A lot of those would be great for summer programs. Even hunting, I guess, depending on the type of summer camp.

There has to be some equivalent to the Scouts here who'd be interested in having someone teach the older kids any of those. And maybe some simpler jewelry or Popsicle-stick building for the younger ones.

Sadly [a pause] there doesn't seem to be any summer programs.

Scouts. Camp. Heh, I didn't even consider those. [Though she can't really see herself wanting to join a day let alone a full week of activities with strangers. She has yet to work up to opening up to people on that level.]

Do you consider SCIENCE [Yes, you can practically hear all those capital letters and it's accompanied with jazz hands.] a practical skill?

Um... depends. [She looks mildly amused or mildly thrown off by this woman's excitement.] What kind of science?

[That's a pretty standard reaction, and she continues on, undaunted.]

Genetics, mostly. I was thinking of getting a little club thing, started. You wouldn't believe the number of people from world's where DNA isn't common knowledge yet.

[The topic definitely gives her pause since there is a lot to do with her DNA she's certain she doesn't want to explore at the risk of letting other people explore it.]

I can believe that. But what would you do in this club? Test blood types? [The thought only occurs to her because she used to look forward to entering the grade that did that in school.]

Would you want to test your blood type? We could. Or we could do something more complicated. Whatever you wanted. I'll help you design your own project if you've got a question you want to answer.

Not, really. Was just asking. [But this woman seems to excited, she'd sort of hate to turn her down completely, which is why she then adds.] I think I'd only be interested in looking in what you do first.

[Cosima's grin widened, pleased that someone, anyone is excited about her research.]

Sure, sure. I can give you the grand tour of the lab. Show you my official and unofficial projects.

Okay... I have free time tomorrow to come see.

Awesome. You like ice cream? I swear, I'm not asking because you're a kid. I love ice cream. There's a great place right by the labs we can check out after if you want.

Uh... Normally I don't take ice cream from strangers, but I don't mind going with you.

[She'll get her own.]

Oh, right. Strangers. I'm Cosima. [She give a small wave, distinct from her constant stream of excited hand gestures.]

Yes. Thank you. [She looks visibly more comforted now the stranger has a name.] I'm Enid.

Sorry, sorry. I'm so used to people knowing one of my sisters...

Well...I don't think I know your sisters.

[Or that they all look alike.]

Never seen anyone around who looks exactly like me?

Man, I need to tell them to go out and socialize more. [She pauses, waving both hands through the air.]

Sorry, unnecessary tangent. I've got sisters. A lot of them actually, but a few here.

Who are they? [She asks curiously, feeling like she can't not ask now.]

Sarah and Sarissa. Alison and Helena spent some time here too. [She doesn't mention MK, knowing the younger clones insistence on secrecy.]

You have a lot of siblings.

[That's just a note. She actually thinks Cosima is lucky, what with Enid being an ~~orphan~~ only child herself.]

Yeah, but I didn't know about them until recently. We've lived most of our lives not knowing each other exist.

Still must be nice getting to know them.
