It runs on kindness, though, donations and volunteers, so it could sort of use all the help it can get. Did you rescue him?

Yeah, I guess I did. He got hit by a car, and I, uh... nursed him back to health.

[By which he means, brought him back to life.]

Yeah, pretty much. Someone to make sure it's running smoothly, it's staffed, people are happy.

And honestly, I think it's their idea of a joke. I had a pretty bad accident at home. [And died, slowly and excruciatingly.] Guess there's not much confidence in my self-preservation.

Jeeze, that's awful. Sorry to hear that. Mine's kinda a joke too, though not gonna turn it down.

Way better than nothing. I've worked on burn victims, and the recovery's a nightmare.

Oh, just gotta say it works better the more recent the burn. And if it's already healed there ain't anything I can do anymore. So if you gotta call me in, make it fast. I'll drop whatever I'm doing. If it's real bad, I know a guy who can teleport, sorta.

I'll get you on speed dial, in that case. The clinic's right by the Porter in De Chima, so it's a pretty quick trip from anywhere.

I hadn't even thought about press coverage. I mean, everyone knew about this place when Lucy was opening it, but I'm sort of a nobody. That would be great, if you could help get the word out.

Of course! Let me pitch it to a few places and see what the response is? It may take a while, since I'm building my whole presence from the ground up, but... worst case scenario, I'll at least blog about it.

I have really weird powers this time around.

I was a doctor back home, for a good forty-one years. Unfortunately, I am from January of 1950. Fortunately, I also both live in De Chima and was given a literal healing power here, which I seem to be getting somewhat better with. If your patients would not mind a Russian doctor a good sixty years temporally displaced, then I would be happen to assist, Tovarisch O'Malley.

I can't speak for my patients, but I certainly wouldn't mind it, especially with the healing power. And I can catch you up on anything that's changed too much.

[That's... an ambitious statement, considering almost everything has changed. But George tries to deliver it with a cheerful voice.]

I have been trying to catch up with what I can since I arrived. I am a relatively new arrival, but I assure you I will do my best. It sounds as if you need whatever help you can get, and with God's blessing perhaps my power will make up for my lack of knowledge in at least some areas.

Honestly, as long as you can stitch a stab wound together you'd be a huge help. The rest is just handing out pills to stubborn heroes who won't believe they caught the flu.

I can. I am horrifically experienced in that particular field. With my powers I can also knit some of the skin and muscle back together - not often, but enough to stop the bleeding. And having four children and twelve grandchildren, I am well versed in arguing with stubborn people who think they know best.
