[text] timeline project stage two
[THE UPDATED DOCUMENT sent to (recipients' IDs hidden IC) Cad Bane, Lando Calrissian, Poe Dameron, Count Dooku, Jyn Erso, General Grievous, Armitage Hux, K-2SO, Revan, Bodhi Rook, Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, with this note:]
please find attached updated history/timeline
and submit any corrections, notations, additions, redactions, +c
[Postscript only to Bodhi and Poe]
the idea of pooling our knowledge like this was my (probably idiotic) hope
to show how all conflicts are finite and history is pendular
ideally persuade not to bring same conflicts to this new place
doesn't seem to be working
but it's all happened
and i think those who helped it have a right to know
any input you'd like to give
i'd welcome very much
~ c.
[ooc: apologies to Kylo Ren and Meetra Surik, about whom Cassian still just doesn't know!
This is about the right date for this to be posted: just before all the Artillery Ambush -scapades kick off]

In this instance: Dooku's and Hux's accounts had been the least faithfully recounted. That is, Cassian had altered nothing, but he'd had to do the most excavating for bare bones of data, through many layers (possibly more, definitely more nuanced, in Dooku's) of opinion, judgment and intent. He was still waiting to see what Hux would have to say about Cassian omitting all adjectives.
So he could take this… (1) at face value: Dooku appreciated the premise and thought Cassian had succeeded at it; (2) as sarcasm indicating displeasure; or (3) …something manipulative that Cassian couldn't begin to guess and tried to dismiss as paranoia.
In the end, assuming (1) kept open the most other options.]
i'm glad you approve, my lord
[…and hazard a fishing line. He wasn't going to report on any of their other neighbors to anyone else, but there was always a change he might glimpse others' sympathies and connections.]
i wish i could get as detailed an account at what for you and i would have been the 'future'
but am encountering some resistance
Text
Really? I can't imagine where from.
[Now that was sarcasm. He sees that... 'conversation' with Hux.]
I would appreciate further knowledge of what transpires in our Galaxy after my time. I hope that you are able to proceed despite these obstacles.

[sarcasm received]
I have a promising new lead - will update when info available
if you don't mind the question - i know my particular interest in the project, i'm curious if you have any more specific than it being our shared galaxy

you still haven't told me in any concrete terms
ready to remedy that?
[or will there be more vindictive haggling?]

when we've compared notes on mutually known matters i've found our perceptions quite different
so i'm holding out for something more than verbs

do you understand the difference between empty description and usable detail
none of this would qualify for a formal report
nothing is defined

text
i was sick of it the first time
i may have another lead so if you want your perspective represented
it's time to name a price
or whills forbid act like we're in the same boat now
text
I was going to name a price but since you've decided to make this Rebel propaganda, I've changed my mind. Suppose you'll just have to be patient, won't you?
text
e.g. If this dry as dust list of factoids read as propaganda…
—well, of course it would, when, as Cassian was convinced, reality had an anti-Imperial bias.]
point out the propaganda
show a place my edit of your additions results in different treatment from any of the rest
text
But at least I will get to write galactic history when I return home. I suppose I'll just have to be content with that.

Cassian doesn't miss shooting and being shot at. But for this relationship, it would have been more straightforward.]
i'm sure it will be as well-received as your other efforts
