[The video opens zoomed in on—a spider. Don't worry, it isn't a real spider, it's a clearly fake tarantula attached to a web made out of cotton stuck to the ceiling, and when the camera starts to zoom out, it's clear that this fake tarantula is one of many plastic spiders dangling from the ceiling, with plastic bats in flight hanging on strings to complete the Spookiness of the bakery this video's taking place in.

Then the video shakes a little, the camerawoman getting up from her seat to walk over to the display of pastries. There's a tray of cupcakes that's decorated with orange icing and tiny little ghosts stuck on the top with a stick, in keeping with the theme that's currently going.

The camera turns to reveal Veronica, wearing this piece with a blue scarf.]

I just realized that it's the same month now that it was back home, when I got dragged here. [She says this in a tone of slight surprise.] I didn't really celebrate Halloween then, because [multiple people were dead by then and it kind of slipped her mind] I was brought here before the last week of October. But hey, apparently, I get a redo.

[Yaaaaay.]

So does anyone have any recommendations about horror movies? The cheesier the better, but I'm not opposed to horror movies that are actually scary.

[A pause. Then:] And, I'm just curious, how many people here come from a world where Halloween doesn't exist? Because, if so, happy first Halloween, you're going to see a lot more of this [gesturing vaguely towards the decorations hanging from the ceiling] until November.

Well, first we've got Attack of the Crab Monsters. It's pretty much what it says - a group of scientist go out to an island, and there's a bunch of giant, man eating crabs. They ate the last guys that came by and it made them super smart, so now they want to eat everybody and take over the world.

[She lowers her voice and waggles her fingers for emphasis, clearly not taking the terror seriously]

Then there's The Artifact - that one's even older than Crab Monsters. It's about a cursed gemstone that was stolen from an ancient temple, and once it gets put in a museum, all sorts of spooky stuff happens. Death, poison gas, portraits coming to life... it's pretty cheesy, but I'm kind of impressed that they pulled some of that stuff off. I also have some newer movies, too. There's The Sludge and Sludge 1.5 - those are about ghosts stuck in a sewer - oh! And The Circle. Have you heard of that one? It's a Japanese movie that was a pretty deal here a few years ago. There's books, remakes, a whole bunch of sequels... all that stuff.

[dryly:] That sounds utterly terrifying. I'm so scared.

[After living through her own horror movie, she's pretty sure these aren't going to terrify her that much. She'll most likely be proven wrong.]

The Circle? Not much, that's the one with the CD that kills you after three days, right? [She snorts out a laugh. What a ridiculous premise, what CD can kill someone after three days?] How'd the tagline go—you have three days. [She manages to keep up the ominous look for all of five seconds before bursting into a laugh.]

[Okay, that gets a smirk out of her]

Sooo. If I brought it over, you'd have no problem seeing it, right? I mean, a haunted CD isn't that scary.
