[ Taura looks noticeably comfortable on camera, used to the idea of vid messages, despite being an eight foot tall muscular woman with an outslung jaw, protruding fangs, and piercing tawny-gold eyes to match the light dusting of fur across her pale skin, visible at the right angle. She speaks around her teeth deftly, her eyes bright with eager interest. ]

Hey. I'm new here, and I was wondering if anyone was looking to hire some muscle. I'm not too proud for menial labor, although I am a trained mercenary. [ Her military uniform is a plain gray, but does have sergeant's tabs visible. ] I'm not sure when I'll be called on-duty yet, but I don't need a lot of sleep, so I can fit in whatever odd jobs you need me to do.

I also accept payment in food. [ She starts to grin wolfishly, and then hurriedly suppresses it, worried that her fangs will put people off even here where she's far from the oddest thing around. Taura hasn't mentally adjusted to that yet.

Clearing her throat, she goes on: ] My file said I'm stronger now, and I haven't broken a glass just from holding it since I was a kid, so I guess I must be. Is there anyone else around here like that? Or at least who's really tough to hurt? I need to adjust to my new level of strength so I don't hurt anyone. [ Taura's quite matter of fact about it, as if this is a business task. ]

--Oh, yeah. My name's Taura. Nice to meet you! If you just want to go around town, too, I'd love to meet people! [ Her excitement is palpable, and hard to contain. Being here is a fun new experience for her, not dreadful. ]

[ Taura's not quite as bouncy hyper-manic as Miles is, but she's pretty excited herself, in her more contained way. ]

Ohhh, who are they? What sort of scientists? If they took you in for a while, they can't be too bad.

It's very antique. [ She doesn't sound any less cheerful as she says it, though. ] But I haven't gotten to spend a lot of time on Earth so I'm looking forward to getting to look around!

Ah, you have an Earth in your world as well. Other planets too, I imagine? [ since she mentioned she didn't spend much time on Earth. Plus, being not human helps to figure that out much better. ]

[ Badass sweetheart is absolutely correct, and she's pretty thrilled at all these people not-reacting to her appearance. She's the only vaguely non-human thing around, in her universe, and the ostracization can get intense. ]

Nice to meet you, Alex! How are you 'kind of' a soldier? [ She looks curious rather than judgmental. ] I'd love to practice sometime.

Oh, no, I have plenty of jobs, I guess I just don't like being idle. [ She flashes a quick, small grin back, less embarrassed about her fangs now that she's surer of her reception. And Taura's gotten a lot of interesting mixed messages on Persephone already, but she's the sort who always judges for herself. ]

[ he kicks back in his seat, and if taura's paying attention, it's obvious that he's outdoors with a tent in the background. ]

It's kind of a long story. I'm a dead demigod that works for a Viking god of the dead as one of his soldiers for the end of the nine realms. [ jazz hands. ] We spend a lot of time killing one another and fighting dragons and occasionally questing to prevent the Norse apocalypse.

Oh, yeah-- it's really fun being here! There's a lot to do, and see, and everyone's so friendly. And my admiral is here, so I'm not alone. [ As far as Taura's concerned, there's not much more she could possibly ask for. Except she does kinda miss her squadron. ]

Nice to meet you, Taura! Just as a heads-up: you're never gonna get called to duty. There's plenty to volunteer for here when things go a little, um, sideways, but there's no active recruitment.

[ That she would immediately take to it is more of a hint that she's military than her uniform. Anyone can wear a uniform, but Jaime's familiar enough with military types to know that a predisposition to go where they need to go is more of an indication than anything else. ]

Is there anything you've ever wanted to do besides security work? Generally speaking, this is a good place to try out things you haven't gotten the chance to try out before.

Oh-- [ Taura laughs. It's low-throated, a deep sound, but genuine. ] I was making a joke, kind of. My CO is here and I guess he became an ambassador? I'm his bodyguard sometimes, so, on-duty-- [ She shrugs. ] Probably when he goes to public functions.

[ Her eyes brighten as he goes on, though. ] I'd love to try tons of things, but I don't know if I'd be very good at them... They gave me a job as a-- motion capture actor? That sounds like it'll be fun.
