Hello, fellow imPorts.
[The feed displays a young man, around 17 or 18-- but the air he gives off is somehow older, more self assured than you'd expect from a teenager. He's dressed sharply in an expensively well-tailored suit; his concession to the heat was to forgo the tie and leave the top button undone. In his breast pocket, a neatly folded handkerchief square peeps out. The overall image is painfully British.]
Having seen a few young people discuss their worries about being ready for schooling in September, I would like to offer my services as a tutor to those in need. Though the history and geography of my own world is rather different, I'm quite proficient in most areas of mathematics and science, including algebra, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, physics and chemistry.
Additionally, I'm fluent in French, Czech, Hebrew and Latin should anyone desire to learn another language-- not that it is strictly necessary, here.
I admit though, that is only one part of my inquiry.
In fact, I'm eager to continue here some of the work that I performed back home. I have consulted with the police department on numerous occasions to help with their investigations, have a working knowledge of the law such as it exists in my own world, and have also some experience liaising with the press. If anyone knows of any available job openings that could make use of my abilities, I would be in your debt.
Thank you.

But it is a good suggestion. I am already studying the laws of this universe out of my own interest; perhaps I should opt to study for the bar examination, if I am going to be here any length of time.

Please go into more details regarding your "consultations." There are many ways in which one can assist on an investigation; to better know how to place you, I should like to know your specific skills.
With regards,
Miles Edgeworth
[text too then]
Mr. Edgeworth,
In my own world I was both assistant and understudy to the head of the Internal Affairs department of our government for a number of years before a shift in administration saw me promoted to Information Minister some months ago. The Department of Internal Affairs is a division of the British Security Ministry and an elite law enforcement unit. The department is mostly concerned with domestic terrorism and foreign insurgency. I started as a clerical aide when I was fourteen, but by the time I was promoted to Assistant Head I had helped to solve a number of cases, including (but not limited to) locating a rebel leader, recovering a stolen object of importance to national security, and discovering a traitor within the British government who had been plotting his own coup d'etat.
As Information Minister, officially I was responsible for liaising between the press and government. Unofficially, I was continuing to help Internal Affairs on matters regarding domestic terrorism while they were short-handed during the aforementioned administrative shift.
I appreciate the inquiry and thank you for your time.
With regards,
John Mandrake

Going to school? I met a few people that said not to go to school! I've never been to school. You sound like you go to school.
Is it true? Only uncool people go to school?
permavid probs.
Mandrake's reply takes a minute to come through, because never in his life has he come across such a chipper individual. He genuinely has no idea how the fuck to react. He works it out eventually, though.]
Ah... you would think that, but no. I have in fact never been to a-- a school, as such. My education was a combination of home tutoring and self-directed learning.
As to whether you go to school or learn from home, I think it near as makes no difference, but I believe that completing your education is of paramount importance. Surely the only truly "uncool" thing in this world is to be ignorant.

[Oh, she sees that conversation with Edgeworth.]
Not that you'd do that. I work as a private detective, if you're considering private work. It's been fairly lucrative.
video.
[Mandrake's been pretty well indoctrinated by his own government, so unlike many of the imPorts, he's actually pretty sympathetic towards this one.]
And I would never dream of lecturing others. [Mostly because he's learned well to keep his opinions to himself. It doesn't stop him from judging them in the privacy of his head.]
I wouldn't turn down private work. Any experience is good experience, as they say.

PermaVid
[Posture composed, but relaxed, Revan is sitting in a high back wooden chair with his chin resting delicately in his fingers. Veiled amusement sparkling behind his eyes. But from what?]
I'm curious, how did you come to possess these varied skill sets?
PermaVid also o/
How did I...? The same way anyone comes to possess a skill, I imagine. I studied them and applied myself until I achieved mastery.
[REALLY. He's aware he's ahead of the curve but it's not like it's THAT hard or unbelievable.
Or so he believes, anyway. Being home schooled his entire life, his viewpoint is horrendously skewed.]

Thank you, sir. I've thought as much myself. I have actually already taken out a few books on Russian from the library this week, in the hopes of pursuing that end. Unfortunately, I can't say it's a language I've ever had much occasion to come across, back home.
