You know who to keep out. {But to reinforce his point, he walks over and allows the dog to sniff a blanket.} He is not welcome.

{The dog gives a faint growl and Thranduil smiles.}

I do believe I have made a fine investment. {No, the dog was not cheap nor was he easy to find. But the effort and money will be worthwhile as long as he keeps up the dog's training.}

For once, I am looking forward to the day. {He strides into the kitchen and lifts up an apple, examining it. Then his attention shifts to those who might be watching.} Can you say likewise?

[He rests his chin within his bandaged right hand and grins. It seems Jack had a nasty run in with either someone or something. Either way, there's a few specks of crimson on those white bandages.]

Gondien. It refers to a rock or a boulder. {Ah... That bandage? Jack, you have his attention.} What befell you, pirate?

[It's actually a little bit surprising for Jack since he didn't think the elf would be good with blades. He watches with lowkey appreciation for such skill. It's like watching a master at work. He idly wonders if the Elvenking is a better swordsman than Will.]

Gondien, eh? That's a fitting name for that hound! He hasn't moved an inch since ye called him.

[Jack pauses for a moment at that question. It caught him off guard but he quickly masks the surprise with flippancy.]
