Normally it would be astonishment, but the kid's been through hell and (part of the way) back, and it shows on his face; this is going to be the coolest once he gets a good night's sleep under his belt, but right now - ]

Um. [He pushes a pair of dust-coated goggles up into his hair, and coughs. The scarf below his chin seems coated with a similar substance.] Is there an Indiana here?

[A brief pause. He knows how dumb that question sounds.]

I really need to call someone.

Yeah. The police chief, and my sister and her boyf- ... her friends.

[Nancy and Steve and Jonathan aren't adults, not by a longshot, but they certainly have proper weapons, and that at least counts for part of the question.]

It doesn't matter, though. Even adults can't kill them.

You don't know that for sure. Most things have a weakness, it's just... a matter of finding them. And having adults on your side helps, 'cause they can actually buy a gun, or - call someone, and have them actually halfway believe 'em.

[ Being a scared kid sucks. He's certain this poor kid's been told he's a liar for the stories he's told before. Still, there's not much anyone can do for him here. ]
