Video; Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
[As usual, Dio prefers addressing the public with his face attached to it. And also as usual, he needs some dramatic lighting and today that is a desk lamp that is giving off a blue light.
He's sitting in his Maurtia Falls office, next to the library, though it's the dead of night, so seeing the surroundings isn't really easy to do.]
I know we're all very distracted right now, but frankly I can't take this anymore.
I'll be honest. I'm a creature of the night, and cannot walk in daylight, which is usually quite alright, but I find myself tiring of doing the same activities night after night. If I continue to frequent bars I fear I may come off as alcohol-dependent, and I'm not a criminal, so that's right out for nighttime activities.
So tell me, what is there to do over the course of a night? What more should there be? Should we be taking the fact that some of us are nocturnal into account when planning activities, and if we do, what would be the solution? Running businesses for 24 hours would likely come at great cost for employers, so that may not be feasible.
For those of you who are perhaps not strictly nocturnal but may stay up until the early morning, what kinds of activities or businesses would you be most interested in being open over night?

I train during the night, though I don't know if that is something most would do daily. [ kaneki does because kaneki is kaneki ]
I think nocturnal grocery stores and coffee shop - not bars - are welcomed for people who prefer the night. It's a shame libraries aren't open, because I know I'd spend there a great deal of time.
[ Video ]
[He couldn't beat Giorno up EVERY night.]
Privately owned businesses like coffee shops would be easier to keep open later. The library could be workable too though, depending on a few factors. As long as we can find people willing to work there later.
Do you think it's worth it to expand on overnight shifts for people like myself? Or would I be too much of a minority for it to be a positive change?
[ Video ]
[ kaneki hums ] I'm certain there would be some, not everyone prefers to work during the day I believe.
And well, even if we are a minority, I still opened up a coffee shop for imPorts like us. [ in other words ] I think in this case it'd be a lot easier than what i've built. [ libraries, coffee shops and grocery stores open during the night work for all sort of people; students who have an exam, people with insomnia, those who are waiting for another shift to start, people who get hungry during the night. It's a lot less restrictive than a cannibal café ]

Meet more people. I'm truly terribly bored. Boredom is the number one killer of immortals like myself!
Re: text

usually i take crobat out but it does get boring
when are you most active?

plus a tidy profit gets turned on snacks, too. around one in the morning people start buying things just to kill time and give their mouths something to do.
i figure the cost to run one would be minimal. a theater doesn't need more than one employee for the late night/early morning crowd and teenagers will work for damn near nothing. guess the real issue here might be finding a space? idk. it's a thought worth entertaining either way.
[ Video ]
Though I suppose such a theater would be something to do with a good friend of mine.

unfortunately, and i speak as a chronic insomniac, there's not a lot of nighttime activities that involve actually engaging with other people that aren't just bars/parties/clubs/that whole subset of tired cliches. tough break, man.

Yes ma'am I am! If you are worried about outing me, you need not be. It is a condition I am open about sharing with the public.

You could always pay someone to keep their business open later. S'what I do.
I want to be a social creature. Ugh.
Why can't all of you just be nocturnal?
It's easier to sleep at night.
Though I am kind of surprised there aren't more vampires around. With how endless reality can be, you think there would be more.

[ A shake of her head. ]
I can't imagine how you managed to make it there in the summer when it gets dark later.

Honestly, the inability to walk in the daylight is quite the hindrance when everything is geared toward the diurnal.

[ She seems wistful. Flowers are so very important to her. ]
Have you always been nocturnal? Or was this something that changed over the course of your life?
