If you guessed Kara, you're right! But she's still using video because she wants to prove that she's absolutely fine and not at all troubled by the past few days.]

And has anyone ever actually asked the government for a power, instead of just accepting whatever random shit they gave you? Thinking about getting a little something extra.

Are those resources what you'd be asking for? They know more about us than most people would be comfortable recognizing, from what I've experienced. If you were to ask for something that would be helpful in that way, they might already know what you're capable of. It might make it easier.

I wouldn't count that one out. Satan's here, apparently. However you go about this, whoever you meet, once it comes down to what you want from them, tell them that. You tell them that's what you want and you're willing to work with them in order to make it happen. And mention your shield before any other weapon you know how to use. They might know your skills, but leading with the one that people associate with defense is what I'd suggest.

They call us heroes, heroes defend. No matter what, you lead with the fact that you can defend. That's the best offense. If you get a meeting, I'd just take your shield with you. Put it right on the table if they let you, hand it over if you have to. But take it with you.

Taking it with me seems excessive.

Or proactive if you are comfortable with letting them take it from you. You're not just asking for the power to pull weapons out of nothing. You're showing that you can make your own, that you could use it to summon ones you've crafted on your own time, with your own talent. Making shields isn't killing people, and you're good at that.

Guess it can't hurt to lead with that, especially after the last few days. Could've used a shield in there.

What can you make other than shields? If you can make all your own weapons, you could specify it to that. If you can't, might be able to specify it to ones you know, even if you don't make them. Go in there telling them you want to be able to pull any weapon at any time, that's a little much. Though they can probably give that out, that's asking a lot right off the bat, you know?

I'm no blacksmith. The sword that Freyja gave me is here with me, I want to be able to pull that. Might not ask about my gun from the start, at least my sword is limited to close range.

A sword and a shield is as good a start as any. [Not to mention the idea of pulling "any" weapon, asking for that, might require a lot of trust. Government uses weapons, too, don't they? But then again, maybe they have ones that are made so imPort powers don't stand against them.] I don't know who you'd talk to in the government here, specifically, but you could probably check with the police if you can't get a name.

Figured I'd start with that Captain Holiday, if I can get hold of him.
