paper 002 ☈ [video]
[Anita is sitting on her bedroom windowsill. She doesn't look like she's in a good mood.]
Some help the "government" was with the kidnapping business. [Anita raises one foot onto the sill and leans against the window frame. Someone tell her that's not exactly safe.] Don't they care that there are sick people out there who turn us into guinea pigs?
[Actually, she's also miffed because she was unable to escape. Usually breaking out is no problem for her. Maybe if her sisters were with her, they could have figured out a better plan together.]
Anyway, I'm looking for a better job than being a stationary designer. My sisters and I ran a detective agency, sorta, back home. And we were bodyguards. Yeah, yeah, you're thinking a kid like me can't be a bodyguard. Well...
[She suddenly jumps off the windowsill and back into her room, whips out a sheet of paper from the holster always on her thigh, and hurls it at her bed's headboard. The sheet stiffens and sails through the air to embed itself into the wood. Several more paper blades follow and find their mark in the wall over the headboard.]
Think again. I can be your bodyguard. But if you want a registered bodyguard, too bad, 'cause I'm not. As if being registered automatically makes you a better person.

Takes more than being able to fight to make a good bodyguard.

I might have some work. But it's a one-time thing.

But she calms down a bit when she hears his offer.]
What kind of work? How much do I get?

Friend of mine's putting together a meeting for imPorts sometime next month, and I'm in charge of security, making sure no one starts any trouble. [ Easier said than done; imPorts attract trouble like lint. ] So I'm looking for people to put on the team. You'd be paid by the hour.

Do you want to do detective work here?

Was that paper?
text;
And yeah, that was regular paper. I can do it with any paper.

How?
text;
I'm a Paper Master. I've been one for as long as I can remember.

What's a paper master?

[There's a brief pause.]
As for a couple other points, registered or unsettled means nothing to us. Maybe to the government, but not anyone else. Hopefully. [Except Tony Stark, but she's not saying it.] When it comes to detective work, you can open an agency by yourself if you'd like.

And, wouldn't there already be one around by now?

[She needs to repeat that.]
And you think there needs to be just one?

[Signs on telephone poles don't really make great advertisements.]
Are you planning on registering?
video.
Register with the freaks who took me away from my sisters? Never.
