[ Kaneki won't be greeting anyone because this week hasn't been easy. So he will go right to the point: ]

Following up some information from last month's missions to South Korea and Space, Jacob-san, Cisco-san, Anderson-san, Thrawn-san and myself did some investigation, which lead us to Chile, Iquique, and Mexico, Guadalajara. If you are interested in knowing what we discovered during last month's missions, please follow up the two links I'll be attaching to this post. In Chile, we found a launch site that has been stockpilling large amounts of construction materials used to construct Project Phobos, and launching them to Mars. We came to realize OTO's satellites were simply meant to provide concealment for these launches, and all the materials check out with the inventory lists obtained in South Korea. Aparently OTO was using legal loopholes to manage all of this, so the Chilean government seems to be unware of what is going on in their soil. [ kaneki is flipping through pages as he speaks. He wrote everything down, as usual ]

The launching site belongs to a company by Hora Nueva, their CEO is Vincent Magaldi, and their headquarters are in Mexico, which we also investigated. Hora Nueva doesn't seem to know OTO's plans, and like it has been happening with a lot of companies related to them, it seems that they are just exchanging services, so they aren't involved with the nuclear attack. OTO was interested in them specifically because HN managed to create a 'Jet-Express' engine, that allows fast travelling through space. That's how OTO was able to get their materials to Mars orbit so fast.

We also believe the missile is using this engine.

[ so it's not travelling at normal speed, no. Kaneki eventually puts his papers down ] Me and everyone else involved can try answering any questions. If anyone wants to follow up on any of this, or has any ideas, feel free to come forward. Right now we need all the help we can get.

So basically millions of people are going to be murdered extremely quickly. Fucking great.

[ Okay, Cass is far from dense- she's just extremely exhausted, and you could probably tell from her voice. She's likely also done a lot of yelling. Who could blame her? Point is, she's skipping right to the point because it's the easiest thing to do. ]

Did any of you bring materials from your missions back? Preferably in Maurtia Falls, because the porters are as absolutely fucked as everything else right now? If I can get my hands on them, I might be able to do something. I feel like shit just flailing around without something to work with while this place acts like a broken VHS tape and strings us fucking along.

We didn't, they'd just disappear as the new day begun. However, it's fairly easy to get in there and grab something - people from the team could do it.

What is your power?

It's one of my powers from before I even got dragged into this place. I'm a diviner. [ Said in a sort of "everyone knows what that means, right?" tone. ] I can't exactly unlock the secrets of the universe with it, but if you needed to know what a thing's function is, or where it was made, something along those lines...I could maybe make it work.

[ well, kaneki does know what that is, at least ]

Hm, it could be pretty useful. We can take you there or we can get an object from there, if you want.

Honestly? Whatever gets us to find something out about this bullshit sooner. It already feels like we're all losing our goddamn minds, on top of the whole nuclear weapon part.

Perhaps actually transporting you there would be more helpful because there would be more for you to work with.

And yes, we do. We don't know how long Lachesis will keep this time-loop up, and we have to be fast.

[ Lachesis? That part had occurred to her, but she hasn't been here long enough to have any certainty. ] You think it's Lachesis doing this. I mean, that seems obvious, but you sound sure.

I can't be sure, since this would be the first time hearing her voice.

However, Lachesis and her Porter never cared about natives dying, or their war or some city blowing up. [ they didn't do a thing when Debrecen was completely decimated ] But this time the target was the Porter, and certainly she wouldn't be happy if it was destroyed. besides-

[ he hums, smiling a little to himself ] Who do we know that has the power to change time like this? [ only her truly. or her sisters ]

Hm. [ It's a good argument, something she rarely hears around here. ]

So she doesn't have the power to stop the missile herself, just...make us loop around until we figure it out for her? [ She sighs. ] I can't tell if I'm supposed to be grateful or fucking pissed. Maybe both.

Both. I certainly am.

I think she can do anything and everything, but I also think she is a bit limited considering if she does awaken she might destroy this dimension. So why risk that when you have heroes at your disposal? [ that's why she wants imPorts, no? To do her bidding or something like that ]

She can't control if she destroys us, so she couldn't interfere if she wanted to... [ Hmm. ] I guess that makes sense, too, but then it means we're her lackeys. Not that we should be expecting a better answer, but Christ.

Hm- I don't think she ever saw us in any other way. Her most protected lackeys, but still lackeys.

I wonder if she ever considers that it's a bad idea to give her unwitting, pissed-off lackeys superpowers.

Then again...maybe that just shows she's really that impenetrable. [ Thinking out loud, as she's often prone to. ]

Yes, I'd say it's exactly that. She did the same back in the City and was able to do whatever she wanted, she won't change her MO that easily.

I can't believe she's managed to do this twice over and keeps getting off scot-free.

Unless this is finally it. [ She pauses. ] And if it is, it's certainly not a good way for it all to go.

It shows how powerful she is, too.

But let's hope this isn't it. We will fight against that.

Do we know any more about the engine? Particularly how fast it can go, though anything would be good to know. It certainly explains a lot about the path of the missile.

Well, from what we gathered, the last shipments from South Korea with materials to build PHOBOS were in early February of this year. Which means in less than a mouth they were able to get the materials up there, build PHOBOS and launch the missile.

However, US government and NASA didn't detect the missile and instead called it a meteor which was just passing by - they didn't see it going too fast for a meteor. So It's possible the engine can decide the speed the missile goes at. [ a pause ] That's just a theory, though.

A month to launch the materials and build the facility... [he repeats with a sense of almost... wonder, his voice trailing off as he does a few calculations.] Even in my time, it could take months to make one trip at this point in our orbit. To think that they have access to this technology...

[Well, enough dwelling on things they can't change right now.]

So if that's the case, either the engine is programmed to slow down upon approaching our radar range, or someone's controlling it to make it slow down.

It only shows us how truly resourceful OTO can be. Beyond any of our expectations. [ for a while they saw them as a group who just wanted something from imPorts. But this escalation was beyond anything they had imagined. ]

Perhaps, yes. We can't find a source of control nor any signal transmitting to it, so it could be that it's already in its program.

This is a company that we've been keeping tabs on for a while, right? ["we" in this case being relative, since obviously he hasn't been here long enough to have been personally involved.] Did they show any interest in developing space exploration technology before this, or is this angle a complete surprise?

No, they haven't. But they've always shown great interest in cutting edge technology, often involving our powers or at least able to face them. They never shown any actual aggression towards the Porter, and most of their interest in us seemed to be more... scientific than just because they hated us. [ which is why this escalation wa just... abnormal. ]

I can only imagine that they're threatened by us and what we represent, but with missiles large enough to take out the entire state just on impact... [leaving aside the question of the fallout... when he speaks again, it sounds resigned.] Maybe it's a reaction to the lunar base. A sudden escalation in space technology to match what they saw as ours.

It could be, yes. However the Lunar Base isn't ours - we helped building it, but it's not under our control. [ it's an international base, after all ] I'd think they'd take the chance to take some of that technology for themselves, not-

decide to kill us instead.

Sometimes it doesn't matter what the truth is, if that's how they perceive it. If I saw something established by an enemy that was supposedly for the benefit of everyone, I wouldn't trust it. [totally completely hypothetical, of course.] But who knows what they're thinking.

At this point, I have no idea. We will see what happens, I suppose. For now, we have to focus on everything else.

Do we have any schematics for that engine? Any information on how that engine works?

The blueprints are all at their headquarters since this engine has been built.

Honestly, I don't know much about this sort of thing, but you can certainly have a look, Jonathan-san.
