So the day has worn on...and on. And the sky shows no sign of incoming terrors from where I'm standing. Will this be one of those long lapses I've heard tell of?

Whatever was done was enough, friends and imPorts. I'm grateful to those who found a way...

[a beat.

exhale.]

Forgive me. I wish to ask of things touched upon again and again -- much more than the span of days we've just endured. I've already read so much about the past here that I may go cross-eyed to scour any further, and...and there's...something to be said of hearing truths from first-hand sources.

Should you be willing, please tell me: how long did it take you to know for certain your friend or loved one has left-- returned, as it were. What did you do? How many days did it take you to find it in you to be certain?

...How did you know they had forgotten, too? All of this, good and ill. [with an empty laugh in her voice:] There's a lot to be said about fools who believe anything in life is certain, of course, but all the same... A fool like me can at least do her part to ask.

Yeah, it's one of the worst feelings in the world, that frustration. Not being able to do anything to change a bad situation. I wish I could give you a magical fix for it, but if I knew that, there's a lot of things I'd reverse myself.

I understand...

[a pause.]

...I was given something like that. A "magical fix," of sorts. A chance to set things right, before my world was to die. But as I passed through that threshold to the past...here's where I came, instead. And here, my young cousin fighting at my side is a man grown, and I'm given the chance to see what a thriving, amazing world like this can even be like.

It's incredible. But...the drawbacks are so costly.

[kanyounot]

Everything in life is about balance. Good can't exist without bad. And everything we do has consequences, one way or another.

[ Kanan scratches his chin. ]

I mean, it's easy to say, 'if I could go back in time here's what I'd change', but if you did that, what else would change? Would it be for better or worse, in the long run? I'm not sure I'd want that kind of power.

[fauxmarth]

[there's a little touch of indignation, despite herself:] Sometimes, trying is the only option between you and oblivion.

Well, I don't know your circumstances or context. I can't imagine any in mine that would compel me to do something like that, but we all come from different worlds.

[fauxmarth]

I pray you never have to make the choice, sir. No one should have to. It's not right.

Still...whether my passing through that gateway had any bearing on my being here or not...I wouldn't change either.
