[ If anyone remembers Eddie's first explosive video to the network, they might be a bit surprised when his second one starts off very calmly. Almost too calmly. He's pale and pinched looking, as usual, but a closer look might reveal that he's actually sweating a little bit. ]

What do you do if you have a power that could really help people, but—but it could really hurt people, too? And to help someone it means you have to hurt someone else, or hurt yourself? What are you supposed to do about that? What if people are asking you to help them but it means you have to screw someone else over to do it?

[ raven recognises that anger. she'd worn it for years, during every interaction with her mother. something within her hates — hates — seeing it on a kid. ]

[ gently, ] Well, look around. She's not here. And, between you and me, I don't think she's coming here to get you. You're out of her control. So, make your own decisions, okay?

[ that's easier said than done, isn't it? ]

And if she just happens to come here, [ raven accompanies it with a shrug and an expression that says "which is highly likely" ] you can tell her to come speak to me. You're way too young to be stressed out about doing what you want to do.

Trust me, you don't want to meet her. [ Which feels really mean to say about his ma, but is also the plain truth. ] Anyway, she'd be on the network in five seconds trying to make sure no one goes near me, so she'd be easy to find.

[ He shrugs, seeming to be a bit more relaxed in the conversation now. ]

Thanks, though.

[ ah, the empathy she feels for him. his mother must love him deep, deep down all the aggressive need to protect him from the world he needs to be exposed to. not that she'd know anything … raven isn't a mom, and she sure as hell doesn't know best. ]

[ she shrugs her shoulder. ] You'll find I don't scare easily. [ she says it with a confident smile. ]

I'm Raven. Just in case she comes here and you ever want to put it to the test.

That’s a way cooler name. [ — spoken factually, because anything raven says is pure fact. ]

Well, Eddie, since we’re friends, you let me know if you ever feel like this again, okay? We can go do something that you like to do. [ what a normal kid would like to do, raven has no idea. the best thing about this, though, is that she potentially may learn through the best kid on this earth. ]

[ oh no he's blushing. Being friends with someone who's older and clearly Cool is too much to handle. ]

Okay. Um, what do you like to do? [ Because he figures she probably wouldn't want to have a loogie contest. ]

[ who knew that would be such a hard question? ]

I like to fix things, and look on the Internet for stupid jokes. [ it's not very exciting, is it? in comparison to life on the ground, though ... pressing her lips together, raven does her best to find something better, more appealing to a kid. ] I've been trying to learn how to ride a bike. Do you know how to ride one?

[ he seems like he does, easily meeting the criteria as a kid who seems to have his shit together. ]

Oh, yeah, definitely! I ride bikes with my friends all the time back home. I have one here, too, I bought it myself and everything. [ #soproud ] You could borrow it if you want.

[ you are so kind eddie. this world doesn't deserve you and your trust in newly acquired acquaintances with your most prized possession. ]

[ raven smiles at his enthusiasm. it's so good to see this previously anxious kid seeming to beam with normal kid happiness. ]

Do you think you and your friends could show me how to ride a bike? Those videos on Bluetube are not helping me at all and I think I need a real expert to help me.
