A misunderstanding.

Somebody confessed later to the deed but I'd already done my time.

I was on probation for two months. No prison time, but they do remove your powers with their devices.

It's the past. I've moved on.

Right now I'm more interested in what happened to others. You ever been arrested?

Well I know I've never been arrested.

No, I'm not interested in the crimes. Only those that were caught.

That's pretty serious. The person who did it - were they found, eventually?

I haven't. I only know of one person who spent time in prison. I have heard of a few who've been to jail. And always for reasons that seem unfair. Like, someone being arrested for something their doubles did. Or that guy who went to jail recently for trying to keep animals from being hurt.

[She looks away for a moment and then back.]

It's got to be one of my biggest fears, being locked up because of something a double did, or even something I might do when this place messes with our minds like it does. When you were apprehended, how long was it before they let you go?
