Alright. It's time to get introductions over with, so we can move on to more important things. The name's Gabriel Reyes, and that's all you need to know about me for now. We can get to the gritty details another time. The standard debriefing around here is seriously lacking. So what I need from anyone hearing this is as many resources as you have on local information.

I've got a lock on the standard stuff. Cities, locals, all of that. What I need is the ImPort specifics. The Porter itself, ImPort relations, both civilian and government. Regulations, related laws, whatever you've got.

Oh, and if this particular..."assignment" proves as permanent as it sounds, it'd be your best interest to keep your schedules open the last weekend of October. I'll explain more at another time.

What I've learned in my own short time here so far is that a lot of the information you're looking for will be more "learn as you go" than anything people are willing to explain in detail. And then even when they do, it'll be a lot of things that already happened that you'll have to separate from what's relevant currently and still happening. Some of it overlaps, but it's impossible to tell how much.

You might also hear a lot of vague information about the Moirai possessing the Porter, a prolonged Cold War, special celebrity and legal treatment for imPorts... but by now most of what people will probably tell you seems to be either out of our control, or second-or-thirdhand information at best. Except for that last thing.

[ Baal also just isn't someone who has the patience to sit and read enormous catalogues of information and history. And he knows all about celebrity treatment either way. ]
