[A handsome 19-year-old boy’s face is centered in the video feed. He radiates warmth and charisma. With a small smile, he begins to speak. If he didn’t appear so young, his manner of speaking could easily be mistaken for that of a college professor. Or an old man, as his friends usually remind him. His accent is honeyed, Old Money Virginian:]

I’m interested in becoming involved with leadership regarding imPort-native relations. I also feel that I would be an appropriate representative for the interests of younger imPorts, being one myself. What would be the best way to become involved in the political process, bearing those in mind?

I would be interested in being involved as well. It is unfortunate that the political landscape is rather difficult for a young adult to navigate through.

I, personally, believe it could be beneficial for the imPort youth to be part of an internship program. Perhaps shadow the current ambassadors?

I can't believe it turned out that, given the opportunity, you want to be a politician and I don't.

[He grins at his best friend.]

I still believe you would be an excellent one. And considering how different the circumstances are here compared to back home, that’s really the only way I would have wanted this.

I'm sort of a politician. The scientist-diplomat imPort Coordinator job suits me well. I think I'm satisfied with that political career as it is. For now, anyway. As the moon base expands, there will eventually be elections for Ambassador and I'd run for that. Anything else can wait.

That is very true, however policies and laws will need to be placed into effect. It's a different place from anywhere on Earth which calls for an adjusted justice system. You could be just the leader they need for that considering your understanding of the base itself.

[ Adam squints at him.] What part of that do you think I don’t know?

The part where you believe an Ambassador is an adequate title for such a role. That goes far beyond the duties of Ambassador from what I understand.

I'll just have to work on getting public recognition of my true title.

[He laughs--he feels like it's been a while since he's laughed with Adam.]

[ Padme is dressed for the office, sitting behind her Ambassador desk as she considers him. ]

I'm an Ambassador, and one of the platforms I ran on was Import-native relations. I represent Maurtia Falls, but I'm happy to speak to any Import to who wishes to discuss more on this.

I've heard it's unusual for most worlds to be interested in politics this young. May I ask what led you to be?

I'm a citizen of De Chima and would be interested in any advice on how to get involved.

Usually this young, many adolescents are only learning to explore themselves and the world around them as it relates to them. I feel that I've gotten a chance to do that and am now ready to see how what I have to contribute can help others.
