7th Trick - Text
I always liked the fall. Nice scenery, good food, cool nights and mild days. Holidays right around the corner. Things always feel a little cozy in the fall. I died in the fall, too, so I guess I've got a special attachment to it.
I think people are getting a little out of control with the pumpkin spice thing, though. Was it really that good?
[That's your Manipulator: your occasionally poetic villain who occasionally makes thoroughly pointless network posts because he's eternally bored.]
I was a big fan of Halloween too. Nothing more fun than dressing up in costume and eating candy until you puke. Of course, that was a long time before I knew that ghosts were real.
By the way, you should probably keep that in mind before you cut holes in sheets and start running around making oooooo-noises, jerks.
In any case, I had a conversation the other day that got me thinking. Do ghosts exist where you come from? And if they do, what are they like?
If there's not ghosts, maybe there are monsters or something kind of like that. Whatever kind of spooky-type creatures you might have in your own dimensions. I'd kind of like to hear about what they're like in other places.
[You know, just in case someone has an idea he hasn't thought of yet.]
In before "ghosts don't exist anywhere." You're going to have a hard time convincing me of that.

Now you're gonna get people dressing up like that just to spite you.
[A brief, almost-amused exhalation (short, harsh, quickly over-) and then he moves on to the far more interesting part.]
There's plenty've ghost stories, but no ghosts back where I'm from. But we got some nasty monsters that'll attack and leave the survivors comatose. Guess they're kinda close, since most people can't see 'em.

Any good ghost stories?
And yeah, I think you mentioned something about those things before, somewhere. What are they?

Well, apparently what people think it's "spooky", it's just normal in my world. In this world monsters look pretty much like Devils, fairies or even Death, for example. [ and Noi doesn't think they are spooky ] They also find my mask creepy. Which is not. [ of course not ]

People wouldn't even look twice at a "monstrous" person?

We've got serial killers where I'm from that may as well be considered ghosts/monsters.
[Which is way worse, really. The sort of monsters usually portrayed in media are easy to spot. Fangs, horns, claws, eyes flashing unnatural colors whenever someone looks through a camera.
These? Not so much. Very spooky. If he's going to talk to Lunatic, might as well talk to this one, too. It's not like he hasn't discussed him before—is that rude, talking about someone without ever speaking to them? Better politen the hell on up, in that case.]

[He could expand, but he was really only answering to be polite.] Did you really die? Is that how you found out ghosts were real? How are you able to type? I thought ghosts couldn't hold things. Are you a zombie?

Yes, yes, because I'm special, I can, and no.

You're not familiar with Halloween, Boss?
It's always interesting to learn about other places and times. They might have a connection to my own.

Seems like a decent number of "spooky types" here alone.

And I'm not asking about here. I already know what kind of freakshows wander around here. I'm curious about your own worlds.

As a matter of fact, they do. I've only met one ghost but she seemed...angry. [ spoilers: it was the ghost of Dorian's ex-girlfriend who he abandoned when she was pregnant and so she killed herself and the unborn baby, OF COURSE SHE WOULD BE ANGRY YOU MASSIVE SHITHEEL. ]
Though, I might have met another ghost that's not the angry ghost. The jury's still out on that one.

But I think it's only natural. Being a ghost sucks.

It's the first part of this that makes him answer. Arguably this is even weirder, but this man says it as if it's not, and that's what gets Grey's attention. ]
