[ Alright, so this is going to be a sort of difficult post, but Sasaki needs to make it ] I wanted to let you know that Hinami was ported out. [ again. ]

As you may or not know, Hinami-chan was a ghoul- like me. Which is not surprising since she called me brother.[ they aren't blood related, but neither of them bothered to explain it ] However, back in my world I'm a Ghoul Investigator. We are tasked with the investigation, incapacitation and neutralization of ghouls- [ a beat ] I kill Ghouls. That's my job: a ghoul who kills ghouls. [ how ironic ]

And not so long before I was brought here, I had captured the SS rated ghoul Hinami Fueguchi and sent her to Cochlea prison, where is waiting for disposal. [ death. ] I didn't remember her back then. Only after I got here I started remembering, and I realized what I did: I locked up my little sister and sentenced her to death.

When I get back to my world, I still won't remember, and Hinami will still be locked up. I can only hope I will manage to do something to save her, but I don't know what will happen. That's why telling you about this is the only thing I can really do. [ there is a longer pause because he doesn't know how to say anything else, at this point ]

Some of you have met Hinami and were her friends and know she doesn't deserve any of it. It's my fault.

Your little sister?

[Leonard has a little sister. He has raised her. He has tried his best for her and failed far too often. It hits in an unexpected way, even just hearing this scenario described.]

How did you forget her?

[ he did raise Hinami, in a way too. Even if they aren't blood related, he always considered her his sister, until he forgot her ]

I- the person I was before, lost his memories; amnesia. I'm not exactly sure how but probably trauma. [ physical and emotional ] So when I met her again I- recognized her to some extent, but didn't know her.

My partner got brainwashed, back where I'm from. He didn't exactly forget anything, but he was... Detached. He threatened to make me watch him kill my little sister over and over.

I thought I'd lost him for good then. But you say you still recognised her as something. Any chance you'll snap out of it when you're back?

Even here - I still don't have all my memories. I remember the two years I spent here before, and sometimes when I'm talking to someone, something new comes up. In my world, that happens too.

But I don't know if it'll happen fast enough for me to be able to do something and save her.

What made you remember her here?

Before I lost my memories, Kane- I was here before, for almost two years. Hinami-chan was here too.

So after the Porter sent me back and returned me as Haise Sasakik, amnesiac, the Porter decided to give me back the memories of those two years. [ no basically, he suddenly woke up here and boom, memories he never knew he had flooded back ]

The Porter sure is an asshole, eh?

Seems like you're at a standstill, unless there was any way to retain anything for when you get sent back.

I don't think there is. Even before the Porter was possessed by the AI, the heroes that came through lost their memories of this place too. [ so it's not a consequence of Lachesis or whatever AI is possessing the Porter right now, it's a consequence of the machine itself. ]

I don't think I can do anything right now and I don't know what will happen. That's why I had to say this. It won't change a thing, but people will know.

['That's rough.' is accurate, but doesn't quite seem to hold enough weight, so Leonard just exhales, thinking for a moment before he speaks up again.]

How are you on alcohol?

[ a pause.

Snart, you have no idea how much Sasaki would love to say he can have alcohol. Well, normal alcohol. ]

... Uhm... that thing about being a ghoul. I'm not human, so I can't have any normal food or drinks.

[Look, he's thinking. Outside the box here, but he's never exactly studied ghouls.]

Ghouls are carnivorous beings who look like human, but they cannot consume anything else but humans.

So, you eat people.

Am I getting that right? [He pauses for a moment, considering.] Alive or dead?

[ a pause ] Yes, that is correct.

I don't kill anyone. The government provides me with dead bodies that were to be used for scientific research but were rejected for some reason. Back home, I don't know the origin, but my... food, is provided by my superiors as well.

I've never killed a human being.

Then you shouldn't worry so much. I've killed a lot of people and none of that was so I wouldn't go hungry.

[Some of it was for survival, but there was a lot there that was just morally black. He's not proud of it, but he's not going to pretend otherwise either.]

But eating could do something like you as alcohol does?

[ it's still a bit difficult to say "hey i'm cannibal". ] I'm one of the few; ghouls are usually more violent.

Anyway, no- ghouls have created something they call blood wine. With blood and rotting ti- it doesn't matter, but the point is, it's similar to alcohol.

Just you I'm talking to. I'll focus on that.

[Besides, is it really cannibalism when they are not technically human?]

Fermented blood, pretty much? Sounds about right. Ingenuity is always there when it's for alcohol.

[ well, he is half-human. So yeah. it sort of is. ]

I know right? It's amazing what they came up with!

I rarely get to drink it, though. [ drinking alone isn't... a lot of fun ]

Because from what you just told me, there's never going to be a time it's more appropriate.
