[Anakin is absolutely filthy and laying under a car. Someone is grumbling at him, telling him that he "went too far with that last one!". Oh and "that wasn't what the client ordered!". But he is grinning, accepting the verbal bashing with good humor.]

They should thank me! [That statement doesn't go over well. He pushes himself out, wipes oil from his hands...er hand...and frightens his boss by nearly running over his foot. The man is understandably flustered.]

I'll make sure the next one is...boring...done right, I promise. [He claps the man on the shoulder, after he stands up, and flashes him a charming smile. This is how Anakin Skywalker gets away with...just about everything. The man doesn't look convinced, but he does walk off to attend to other work, appeased for the moment.

That is when Anakin hops into the car he had been working on. He revs the engine and beams.]

Doesn't that sound nice?

Anything but the most simplistic technology is wasted on most people on this planet.

You know, I've noticed that. They want to drive on their streets at such slow speeds!

This is why I prefer to keep such things to myself. Such knowledge would only be wasted on them.

It's not wasted on me. Care to share more of what you know about ships, Hux? I'll be done here in an hour.

I will do my best. It is a pity we will not be able to accomplish some feats but I can share some of what I know.

We can keep records until our situation changes. [He fiddles with the gears, shifting them and listening for any changes that shouldn't be there.] Is the city being kind to you?

It has been as well as it could, I suppose. I at least have work that keeps me occupied.

I like work. [When he can do what he wants to do.] I've been working on a droid.

[Can't advertise things like this!]

[Aw why not? His droid is adorably broken. Well. Not broken. He's just missing some vital components and so it's more like a robot of this world.]

I'll bring him with me.

Perhaps I can give some suggestions.

[It's not like he can sleep tonight anyway.]

I would welcome them. [An hour or so later, Anakin will arrive, his little droid rolling up to Hux's door behind him. He knocks and grins.]

Be good, alright? No rearranging things.

[The droid beeps and Anakin shakes his head.]

I have no idea what you're trying to say.

[Hux left Ren asleep in their room, heading downstairs still wearing a t-shirt, pajama bottoms, and slippers. He figured Anakin wouldn't mind since it was late and he didn't want to wake Ren up by changing.

He answered the door, holding it open for them.]

We can work in the kitchen- I don't have any tools here but we can at least work on designs.

Go on. [Anakin nudges the droid with his foot and the little robot rolls into the room, arms outstretched and fingers twitching.] Don't even think about it.

[The robotic arms are lowered and the droid huffs.]

He's a simple design. I didn't dare make anything bigger.

It's impressive given the resources here.

[He knelt down to look at the droid for a moment before standing to lead Anakin into the kitchen.]

Coffee?

[Some lights flash - indicating that it senses Hux is near - then the little droid is off again, inspecting the room. Anakin chuckles.]

Please. I washed up at the shop, but hot water just makes me sleepy.

Of course.

[Hux took a moment to get the coffee started with only a touch to the device before watching the droid with amusement.]

I've been thinking of trying to build a mouse droid. Eli Vanto says that there is technology like that here- just more simple and not as advanced.

[This just proves that Jedi take a lot of cold showers. And not for the traditional reason either. They keep the mind sharp!]

I don't mind helping you design something. It's nice to have a little droid around - even if it's useless.

I have missed that as well- I am used to the countless mouse droids on Finalizer constantly underfoot.

[Something he never thought he would say given how many times those droids annoyed him when he was trying to get somewhere on the vast ship quickly.]

It should not be difficult to modify something to be more useful- it will not be a mouse droid but at least it will be something.

Like a dream. It's a comforting sound, actually.

[ Noctis has really missed the sound of cars, almost as much as driving one. It sounds like civilization, like home. Like a world that hasn't been swallowed in darkness. ]

You like engines? [Be still his heart! A fellow lover of machines!] This one is pretty simple compared to the ones I'm used to.

Yeah. I doubt my paycheck here would help me afford the kind of cars I used to have at home, but I could do worse than saving up to get behind the wheel again!
