002: text
[Mandrake hates typing. He's still not good at it. But he's discovered it's a better medium for keeping emotions out of his replies than video or voice. So, text it is.]
I've been having a discussion with a friend of mine here about the variety of different places that we all come from, and how some seem much more different than others.
With that in mind, I find myself curious enough to ask:
What is your home world like? Using this one as the basis of comparison.
Feel free to answer with as little or as much detail as you would like. You can also answer anonymously if you wish.

I'll be simple to begin with.
Angels are real, as are demons and the children of Lilith or as most like to call them, Monsters. Pagan gods do their own thing and we've narrowly avoided the apocalypse.
How about yours?

text likewise o/
Demons are real in my own world as well, though no evidence of angels or gods, as far as I'm aware.
[There, that answers the question sufficiently enough while also being simultaneously vague. He doesn't really want to talk about his own world, after all.]

[ No1 shall try to explain ]
It's called Magic land, and it's close to Hell. Devils are our Gods and they have fun messing with Magic Users, but some Devils are super nice. They also do awesome things and can be a lot of fun.
In any case, there were no countries and no continents. There were no dumb laws, and though there were no humans in Magic land, we could access the Human world by using our magic!

What of these "magic users" you speak of?

It's... different, to say the least.
The technology in my world is comparative to somewhere around the 1940s in this world, near as I can tell, despite it being 2005. Many of the advancements made by technology here were made by magic in my own, so it has been a learning curve for me, to say the least.
[There. That's specific enough to answer the question without giving away anything personal.]
And what of yours, Mr. Edgeworth?

There was also a bad company that did bad things.
Then we went to Mexico and got margaritas on the beach.
HAve you ever been to a rodeo????

Ah... no. I can't say I have.
[He doesn't say "I don't even know what that is," because that is the beauty of these devices. He doesn't need to let on what he doesn't know. A quick internet search gives him the answer he was looking for.]

Um, well, our technology isn't as advanced in some ways as this world. And where I live, we don't have a beach, but I think I told you that at the party.
[Because she'd mentioned it so many times, she figures she must've told that to everyone she spoke to at the party.]
But my country is a military state. Run by the Fuhrer, Amestris is a new country, compared to those around us, only about five hundred years old, and expanded by battle. We're surrounded by three countries and a desert, and currently have ongoing battles with two of those countries.
Right now, at least...when I'm from, there's a state of...well, there are problems happening within the country. Military unrest? Populace unrest? [She really isn't quite sure what to call it.]
Greetings, Winry. A pleasure to see you again.
Military unrest is quite different to populace unrest, is it not? Perhaps you could explain the situation for me in more detail, so I might better understand.

Really.]
This world's technology is more advanced than my own, more so than what mine can expect to achieve in its own 2014. There's also no magic, no superpowers, nothing supernatural.
[....That he remembers, at least, and not counting the people dying inexplicable ways. But he's not eager to share the latter over a public feed.]
Something of a mundane answer to add to the list you've already gotten.

I suppose that is in my nature.
Are you really so interested in hearing about my world, or are you merely making an observation? I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.
[He's not, really. But he's hoping an open show of seeming acquiescence will be enough to keep Billy from prying too deeply. He's sick and tired of justifying himself to people here who know nothing about his life or his world. More than that, he's sick of justifying it to himself. It gets so tiring.]
