[ It certainly is ambassador election time, and David has thrown his hat into the ring. Despite the bad publicity he's gotten- well, to be quite frank, despite the terrible month he's had- he feels the need to address the controversy surrounding him and the issues that he's campaigning for. ]

Good morning, Maurtia Falls.

My name is David Klein- you may have heard of me in the recent articles surrounding the damages to the Maurtia Falls power grid and canal system. I'm here to set the record straight.

[ In his best "New York ADA giving a sound bite" voice and posturing, he clears his throat, adjusts some papers on his desk. Deliberate. Measured. ]

The truth of the matter is that on the second of August, a certain individual used their abilities to influence myself and eleven others into doing terrible deeds. Not only was chaos sown in Maurtia Falls, but across the nation in De Chima and Heropa as well.

It is why, when I was named as suspect, I voluntarily turned myself in to Maurtia Falls police officer Rex at a neutral location- the swearing in in De Chima.

As of now, I am working with the District Attorney of Maurtia Falls to bring the real culprit of these crimes- the one who started it all- to justice.

[ He adjusts his papers again, quiet, letting the statement sink in. ]

And that is what I am campaigning for. Justice. Not just for myself, or the eleven that were dragged through the mud with me, but for all of us. For too long, there has been blatant corruption in the politics of Maurtia Falls. It has, in my opinion, lead to some of the tensions between imPorts and Natives which has boiled over into riots, into attacks, and into a severe distrust between our communities.

I hope that- given the opportunity- I can help strengthen the relationships between imPorts and Natives in this city by cracking down on the corruption inside of political and judicial branches, as well as strengthening youth programs inside the city for imPort and Native children alike.

Hopefully, we can work alongside the Endeavor Center, as well as Mrs. Belcher's proposed Lind-a-Care program and Mr. Anderson's Big Brothers, Big Sisters program to create a support network not just for our own minor population, but for the native population as well.

Our future begins with our youth.
Our future begins by bringing justice to those who have none.

And I hope to be the one to lead us to that future.

You mentioned cracking down on corruption inside of political and judicial branches. Can you give me details on how, exactly, do you plan on that as Ambassador?

There isn't a quick solution or any easy answers since such systems aren't already established here. But...

Perhaps creating NPOs and volunteer watchdog groups to monitor for corruption. Even working alongside MFPD, the mayor's office, and tech companies to issue body cams for police officers and patrolling heroes.

I'm looking for suggestions- this will be an uphill battle, of that I have no illusions.

Someone already asked about how you'll tackle corruption, so instead I'd like to ask what your feelings are about Aegis Force. My team had a good working relationship with Ambassador Amidala. She sponsored us and backed our funding. I'm hoping we'll have something similar with whoever ends up in her seat.

I admit that perhaps my running for this office is a bit premature. I've sadly only been in Maurtia Falls for all of three months. I've heard rumors and whispers of this Aegis Force- but nothing concrete. Perhaps you could give me your mission statement?

[Without the backup of firefighters, technicians, and the military, the power might never have come back. It troubles Jacob on some level that his own superheroic efforts will always overshadow those of people doing what they can without his own advantages.]

Aegis Force is the new government-funded hero team. We're based in Maurtia Falls, and our mission is to protect the safety and security of people throughout the Porter cities. Our mandate covers superhuman cases and national security missions, but we've also got authority to patrol the Falls for regular kinds of trouble as well.

Discussions with Mrs. Belcher and Mr. Anderson have lead me to believe that we need something that's voluntary- of course- but that minors can reach out to any time they need help.

Whether this is volunteer mentorship by older imports or community centers where minors can go, well.
I haven't exactly polled the youth on the network, but I would like to get their opinion on things.
