I've been thinking of writing another book. I wrote one back in my world, but it doesn't seem to exist in this one. It's also been years since I wrote anything.

I was thinking perhaps a book of poetry, or I could try my hand at writing a novel.

I was thinking of historical fiction, written in the style of Beowulf.

I’d say go for it! My publisher gave me a shot as a totally green and very sad teenager. The climate is a little rougher, right now, but... I’m sure imPort expression is still sought after.

The book market’s definitely treated me better than numerous superpowers-adjacent events in my life. And to be apart from that crud while being constantly subjected to the repercussions... Yeah. I’d be willing to bet the natives would gladly take poetry over something else blowing up.

Hear you're aiming for historical fiction. Personally, I think you should totally take those writing skills and write some of that historical fiction/sci fi stuff where there's MONSTERS. There's a definite lack of good monster stuff right now and you could kickstart that genre here. Like, maybe something like that one that made Lincoln a Vampire Slayer or Pride and Predjudice and Zombies, or whatever, but completely original, not half-assed borrowing from a public domain work.

Frankly, I'd be down for some good cryptid chasers, like a historical fiction version of The X Files, or maybe something with eldritch beasts but without the racism of HP Lovecraft.

Robert Frost, Edgar Allen Poe, Maya Angelou, Emily Dickinsen, to name a few. If you want something longer, I recommend Homer's works.

No, but you'd be surprised how many people here aren't.

I'll look into those. I'd hate to look ignorant and uncultured to anyone.

Poetry is chill. Not enough people seem to care about writing poetry nowadays. Some of the greatest authors were poets.

[He seems pretty interested, because he is. Max is someone who always enjoys a good, solid poem that has great rhythm to it.]

Tell me there will be a few love poems in there and I'm sold.
