Dearest ImPorts, I require your advice.

Sixteenth birthdays are very important in America, right? That's what I've heard, anyway. You always see stories of girls celebrating their Sweet Sixteen.

Well my Sweet Sixteen is in three days, and I haven't a clue how I should celebrate! Please help me!!! Should I host a party? Should I bake or buy a cake??? Which flavor cake is best? Should I ask for the day off from my internships? Would that be horribly inappropriate??

Thank you in advance, I really am clueless on this matter...

Right! You survived a year, that's always worth celebrating.

You could have strawberry shortcake.  Or have a strawberry cream cake if you want something to stick candles in.

They're not important. Some people find it fun to make a wish when they blow them out. You could get sixteen candles. Or you can get the a candle shaped like the number 16. Or candles in the shape of letters and spell out your name or happy birthday.

You can have people sing Happy Birthday to you too.

The best parties are cheerful and not too formal.
