Do you feel directionless when there is nothing to fight for or against?

I have lived through many wars. I have known nothing but battles since childhood. I feel restless to not be in the midst of a war, no matter how terrible they can be.

Such emotions are not so easily put to rest.

[hope grevious is ready for a BIG FUCKING ROBOT TO SHOW UP in about ten minutes.]

[Grievous heads down to the nearby beach and is certainly prepared. He's again in his cyborg form and looking grim. He is thinking of this less of a battle and more like a training session - but he's brimming with anger and frustration so is ready for a good fight.]

[riptide shows up pretty quickly, too. in his cybertronian mode, grevious won't come up past his ankle. he locates the guy pretty quickly and just. stands there. he's not gonna walk over the beach so he pings grevious's comm.]

You gonna come here? Come punch me.

[he waves.]

[Looking across at the gigantic robot, Grievous wasn't quite expecting that. But his annoyance leads him right now and he stalks over, lighting up his green lightsaber.]

Your size is not intimidating to me.

Good.

[he shifts his foot slightly.]

Then come at me.

[Grievous may do an unexpected move next. With his free hand, he clicks something on his wrist and a tether shoots out like a kind of grappling hook, aiming for Riptide's mid-section. If it manages to hook itself, Grievous intends to pull himself up there.]

[riptide has many hookable places on his mid-section, so the grapple does indeed find purchase. he lets out a small surprised noise and takes a step back in the sand, bringing an arm down to try and either break the wire or disrupt greivous's arc.

he considers just jumping back into the sea. that would be a bit of a cop-out, though.]

[The arm does throw the arc off but the cord itself does not break, being made of a metal similar to Grievous' own cyborg body. He lands off to the side but still on the giant, lightsaber coming down for a strike.]

[given the size difference, it doesn't carve into him like it might usually do, but the lightsabre definitely sticks into him. sort of like getting a thumbtack violently jabbed into you. riptide yelps a little, surprised that it managed to pierce his armour. a little bit of pink leaks out- just a tiny bit - which'll burn the hell out of grevious if it gets on him. maybe don't bathe in this enemy's blood?

he's still holding back, given that he doesn't just slam his hand over grevious like a gnat (even if the guy could avoid it), so he opts for the next best thing; he transforms. it's a few second long process but every single part of his body shifts and changes shape into his boat altmode which'll be useless on the sand, but that's not what he's aiming for. he wants to get grevious off him and into a better position and what better way to do that than to literally just take away where he's standing?

don't get caught in the process! that'll suck for both of them.]

[Suddenly the very thing Grievous is standing on shifts. Unhooking the cord, he leaps back, landing spider-like with what appears to be relative ease on the sand. He straightens up again and stares upward at the reformed figure.]

That is cheating.

[He proclaims.]

[riptide transforms back into his bipedal mode from boat mode just as quickly and easily.]

No, it's not.

I would need an army to fight you.

Not really.

[he shrugs.]

If I knew you were gonna quit the moment it got hard I wouldn't have bothered coming down here.

[He growls.]

I do not quit.

I am considering strategy.

[riptide rolls his optics, then sits down on the sand with a heavy WHUMP.]

Alright. Tell me when you're ready to go again.

You can turn human, can you not?

Yeah. You gonna do the same? I don't have armour as a human. Or extra arms.

Indeed. Both of us on level ground.

Pass. Can't be assed.

Then we are at a stalemate.

[Grievous regards him for a moment.]

Did you come here to fight or to train?

I came here out the kindness of my spark so you could work out some frustration. [he snorts.] Waste of time, apparently.

No, it was no waste of time.

[The cyborg sounds thoughtful.]

I thank you for your consideration.

[he shrugs a little awkwardly.]

Whatever. You wanna go again?

[There's a silent pause before he nods.]

Very well.

[He brandishes the humming lightsaber.]

[riptide stands up again with a grunt. the place he'd been pricked before with the lightsabre is no longer spilling that weird pink stuff, so he's good to go.]

Ready when you are.
