2nd [ Video / Action ]

[ Clem's been on her own before, but not for this long - and with no flatmates, she was admittedly kind of lonely. Most of the day she was out and about exploring, but with certain things in mind and an intent to try talking to people a little, she collected her little device, vaguely reminded of her walkie. ]

So... the school year started, and they said I had to go. It's weird. I haven't been in school in over a year. I probably forgot a lot of things.

[ Which won't be a problem now with her sub power. She sees parents dropping their kids off at school a lot though, and it only reminded her that her own parents were gone, and.. well, she tried to pretend she didn't see them. ]

But it's kind of fun? It's... different. [ Different from back home. Homework, tests, spelling, all that stuff - it still felt like a completely different life, and she found it hard to concentrate. But she was trying..! That had to count for something, right? ]

Um... I have a job too now. I've never had a job before...but ... serving ice cream doesn't sound so hard, I guess?

[ Awkward pause, awkward paaaaaause. Aaaaaand she clears her throat a little, disconneting the feed. She will be heading out to the ice cream shoppe today though, if anyone happens to be in Heropa and would like some ice cream dropped in their lap in a tidy little cone. ]

Yup. That's the job they gave me out of the gates. It's not hard at all.

Hi Winry; I'm okay. I started going to school.

It's kind of weird to me!

Uh-huh. But I don't mind. I liked school.

[ She just has to settle into the routine of school and not just daily survival. It's actually harder than she thought. ]

Why have you not been in school for over a year?

... Because everyone's dead. [ Well. Probably. All the teachers are at least, and with a zombie apocalypse around, survival is more important than education. Here, let her amend that statement. ]

Almost everyone. Surviving has to come first, and ...stuff like schools and stores don't work anymore.

[Clem gets to see this guy's face at last. Last time felt really impersonal for Desmond. It's one thing having a phone conversation, it's another having the equivalent with a stranger. Besides, he's worried about her. He knows what it's like having a...not normal childhood. He knows it sucks. So if he can help make it easier on the poor kid...]

[ Oh hey a face to go with the voice and name she remembered. Studying said face for a second, she nods. ]

I'm doing okay. [Wow, she's even younger than he thought she might be. Yikes. What the hell is wrong with these people? She's what, twelve? Maybe?]

I'm more worried about how you're holding up. Are you doing okay at...whatever house they put you in?

I'm all right. It's just me anyway. I have food and medicine, kind of, and since I'm registered, I don't have to pay rent or anything.

[ It's better than sleeping out in the open! ]

I guess not. But I kind of miss it?

I remember some bits kind of.. they gave us a lot of homework. [ BOO. ] I didn't miss that part.

Out of school for a year? Now that would definitely make things a little difficult.

[She decides not to press that issue for now. She's starting to learn that not everyone comes from a normal world.]

But I'm sure people would help you study up if you asked. Just a bit of extra work and you'll be with the rest of the class in no time.

You mean my teacher? I did ask, but I can't stay late sometimes because I'll have a part time job. I could go in earlier though..

Your schooling is more important. You could ask to switch the hours, that way you have enough time between school and work... if you decide to keep the job.
