[ The network ID attached to this one says "Commander Jeroen Akobi," advertising his military rank even though he forewent the Imperial uniform just about as soon as he was set loose upon this planet. Instead, there appears a handsome man in his forties in smart casual attire, haircut just the long side of regulation, facial hair game on point. He's got an affable smile on his face, though it doesn't quite reach his eyes. ]

These jobs they assign you when you arrive are a joke, right? I mean, I'm no specialist, but I've got more marketable skills than "mustache model." Are there any procedures in place for putting in a request for a new position? Because posing for pictures might be a good way to make some side money, but I'd prefer something that actually requires some thought and effort.

That seems to be the consensus I'm hearing. However, I would prefer to go about finding a new assignment through the proper channels.

[ He paused a moment, peering at the ID again. ]

If I may ask, what are you commander of?

You may. I am a Commander in the Imperial Army of the Galactic Empire. Not this galaxy, mind you, one far away from here.

...ah.

[ Another Imperial; he supposed he should have guessed as much from his demeanor. He let out a sigh after a moment, shaking his head. ]

Luke Skywalker; we're from the same galaxy, Commander.

[Video]

[ Interesting. Akobi can't immediately tell Luke's affiliation, however judging from the sigh, he doesn't think he's a loyal Imperial citizen. ]

I see. There do seem to be a lot of us. Where is it you're from, Luke?

Tatooine.

[ Luke paused, sensing his uncertainty, before he let out a breath. He may as well be upfront; no good came from not being direct about who fell where in the war back home. ]

I'm afraid we're in similar positions on opposite sides of the war, Commander. However, this world and its people are not part of our galaxy, and therefore not part of our conflict. We've been able to maintain a truce between Alliance and Empire for some time now; it would be appreciated if you would honor that as well.

[ Well. Sort of truce. Though the shakiness had nothing to do with anyone from the "old" Empire. ]

[ He raises a placating hand. ]

I've already been briefed on the terms of the truce between Rebel and Imperial forces. You have my word I will not make any movements to break the peace that has been established here.

[ But interesting. Not only a Rebel, but a Rebel officer. This Luke Skywalker will definitely be one to watch out for. ]

[ A soft, grateful smile came to Luke's face at that, and he inclined his head respectfully toward the communicator. ]

Thank you, Commander. It's appreciated; there's enough that happens around here.

[ They really didn't need to contribute to it. ]

Between mass casualty events on this planet, and treacherous missions to that other one, it sounds like we could use a little teamwork.

Yeah... as things escalate, we all really need all the help we can get.
