In my world, carnivores are very aware of those around them. We keep our fangs and claws hidden so we don't want to look threatening to herbivores. We try not to call attention to ourselves the best we can, so we don't even wear things like flashy shoes or anything that would make our carnivore traits obvious. [ he reaches for one of his ears next ] I think I'm growing taller which makes things harder on me because everyone can see me from far away. Even though I'm just a kid, I realize I'm growing and becoming an adult very fast, my claws are big and my fangs are huge... [ IT'S A MONOLOGUE. Yes, he does that a lot ]

I'm not really sure what being a grown-up is. But becoming a grown-up in this world seems like it will be a lot of hard work, specially because of my claws and fangs. Even if I try to hide them, everyone keeps staring or is scared of them. Even though all I wanted to do is to live a quiet life...

I wonder if I should just stay human and try to become human, like you. [ Legosi points to himself, and then he shifts into a human form. He can turn human, thanks to the Porter. ] Since I can do this, it's probably easier to stay like this.

But I wanted to know what non-humans think. [ he knows there are some out there ] ... and humans too. I don't know if it's rude to have a wolf turning into a human like this.

But I don't know if humans would think that's true, too. I don't know how I'd feel if others could just transform into a grey wolf as they please... [ well, he most likely wouldn't mind, but he is speaking for himself. he doesn't know how human culture works ]

It's not that simple. People want ways to have things in common, but it feels like I'm stealing it from them.

I can appear human as well, but rarely do. You will get staring from the humans and you can endure it or ignore it. You can stare back and they may flee. You may frighten them. Does that truly concern you?

I don't get stares when I look human. Unless I do something weird... [ and he has done plenty of weird things ]

I don't want them to flee, though! I want to get along with others!

But if I look menacing and scary, I won't even have the chance to meet those who I'd get along with.

I tried that when I first came. I still go out as human sometimes. But I realized it's better when they accept you as you are, instead of accepting you because you look like one of them.

I'm a large carnivore. I have fangs and claws that do work. I can rip someone's arm off with an easy tug. [ it never happened to himself, but he has seen a carnivore ripping a herbivore's arm by accident. ]

This means compared to humans I'm at advantage. So, my presence among humans is, as it is, pretty menacing. By being proud of what I am would show to those who are at disadvantage that I want this superiority, and that would make it even scarier.

Where I am from, there are plenty of people with animal traits and appearance, even with claws and fangs. It is considered normal.

I don't think you should have to hide who you really are in order to get by in this world.

Isn't it scary, though? For you not to have anything like that, and then to be approached by someone who could easily hurt you with claws or teeth?

There are much scarier things in this world than people who look different. You don't seem like the type to actually hurt people, so I wouldn't be afraid of you.

It's not about society. I just don't want others to be scared of me. [ it's very lonely, after all ]

Being a wolf comes easier to me because it's what I am. Being a human is weird, but I think it's easier to talk to others while I look like that.
