There is word the season is for family. It has brought me many thoughts of home.

How do you choose your wives?

Do you choose them for their strength? Or for their beauty? Do you choose them for their skills at weaving or creating a feast? Or do they have a talent with voice or hand, creating iconic images?

There appears to be a preference to choose only one wife in this world. This must be a very difficult choice to make. No one woman can satisfy all the needs.

It's not a matter of what a woman can do. I mean, yeah, it's part of who they are and probably an influence on their personality, but that's not what's important.

Why would you need multiple wives, then? And do they get multiple husbands as well?

Of course not. They had thirty children to care for. They would not be able to take care of multiple husbands.

It is not the only reason for marriage, however it is very important. You have to agree that we cannot survive without new births to replace those that have departed.
