Soooooo.... hi. I'm new here, annnnd... I still have a lot of questions about what exactly is going on! Ha! Ha ha... I don't know how any of these things in this building work and I can't ask anyone outside for help because every time I try they just keep flashing me with bright lights on their little magic boxes and it's all really starting to kind of freak me out.
[ Great idea opening with run on sentences instead of an introduction, right? The nervous blonde on the other side of the video swipes at her forehead with the back of her free arm, revealing soot smudges on her fingers and palm, the other held up to record her video at a suspiciously low angle looking up. There's a kitchen towel over her shoulder and in the background, if you squint REALLY hard you can see a portion of wall peeking out that looks slightly charred and dripping wet. The top of a plastic pitcher, probably empty of its contents sits a little to the other side. The story tells itself almost.
She takes a deep breath, looking towards the ceiling while she takes a second to compose herself, because it's OBVIOUS she's ten seconds away from freaking out. ]
Also-
[ There is some lip biting and rubbing at the back of her neckNo Rapunzel that's the sooty hand!!! going on here for a second, as Rapunzel is a little embarrassed to be admitting this on the open network- but it's necessary so DOING IT ANYWAY.]
I... ah... I might have had a little mishap. I don't really know how it happened. I was reading and suddenly the book caught fire. Is that normal around here?
[ Wow that sounds dumb. She is getting flustered which is evidenced by the nervous darting of her eyes and her pulling the towel off her shoulder to fidgit with before remembering that her other hand is the one holding the "magic box"- the moment the feed dips there's more evidence of the extent of the damage, briefly, before it returns to its previous position. She looks considerably more flustered now, laughing nervously at her own blunder. ] Sorry! Soanywaythethingis- I don't know if there's anyone here who has experience with, um... suddenly catching fire?? But I don't suppose there's someone here willing and able to teach me how to control it? PLEASE?? I-
[ Something off screen just caught her eyes, which widen in alarm. She lets out a startled shriek ("OH! No! Nononononononono!!!") and drops her phone, showing the dish towel on the floor now also ON FIRE. Thankfully, or unfortunately depending on your perspective, the feed cuts out abruptly. ]

[uh...huh.
maybe she died. that'd actually be horrible, but Cece's pretty sure that's not the case? even if the screen is black?
she clears her throat.]
So, ah...still on fire, are we?
voice
No, no! I'm fine! It's fine! I put it out. Crisis averted. You know... for now.
[ Please be the helpful sort of disembodied voice she's a hot mess and needs all the help she can get. ]

she holds up a hand and produces a fireball, floating just above her palm. ]
I think I can help. You, uh--you good, over there, or what?
video;
Really? You'd do that? Please, and thank you! That would be amazing. I really don't want to hurt anyone on accident.
[ SHE'S FINE, MARCELINE. Just too distracted to answer. ]

You should probably put that out.

Her eyes are still darting wordlessly between Catra's face and her ears. ]
Uh... right. I mean- I did! It's out. Nothing to see ear- HERE!

You're obviously dealing with new powers- I suggest that you try to calm down, if you can. Your anxiety may be making it worse.

[At first he hated having ~magical abilities~ but setting things on fire was so much fun now. The perfect power for petty revenge.]
It took me some time and a great deal of practice to learn to control my own ability using fire in some measure.
voice;
I see... I guess that makes sense. It's so easy to set it off. I don't suppose you have any advice to keep burning everything to ash to a minimum in the meantime...?

Hey! Are you okay?! What's going on over there?!

Just sayin'. ]
IT'S FINE! [ Said a bit more shrill than someone who is actually fine might. But, you know, fire users learning how their powers work for the first time and all that jazz!
When she appears on screen again there's a notable lack of towel this time. Rapunzel looks frazzled but unharmed, for what it's worth. ]
I'm fine, I mean! I just- ah... I didn't realize that this new power was connected to how I feel, I guess?? [ So long as she stays calm she'll be fine! And all the better since it gives her some time to appreciate how many concerned individuals jumped at the chance to check on her.

[He smiles, reassuringly, and makes a jazz-hands gesture.]
I got the ability to generate fog, and so far as I can tell it's tied into how I'm feeling. Maybe it works the same way with your fire-power? [Heh, firepower.] Try thinking about something happy. Or something that's calming.

[ By this point she's just a little tired. Who knew putting out fires was such mentally draining work? Or maybe she's just a little...................... burned out. Eh? EH??? ]
I... I think you're right? I was getting a little excited the first time, and freaking out a little the second, so... thinking calming thoughts sounds like a great idea right about now.
[ Her smile is sheepish and a little weary, but sincere. You know what might be more calming, actually? Introductions! ]
I'm Rapunzel. What about you?

[It's probably not weird blood powers, so Molly can't help her with that. However:] Maybe the best way to learn how to control it might be to figure it out on your own. In a clearing, a safe distance away from houses and people. [It's how he figured out his own weird shit! Minus the safe distance part. And plus accidentally cutting himself and seeing ice springing up along the blade.]
As for what else is going on, I might be able to help there. Figuring out how these things work's always a bitch, if there's anything I can do to ease it, you can say it right now.

[ Figuring out how to keep it from turning on every time she gets excited will be a challenge, but she is confident she is up to the task! SO!!! Onto the rest!
You are the NICEST purple skinned person she's met today!
... You are also the FIRST purple skinned person she's met, period! Thankfully she's already met a vampire, a cat girl, and an elf (???), soooooo...! There's that, and this is fascinating but she won't gawk! Much... ]
Oh, oh! Would you? I would appreciate that!
[ Ignore the sound of skin smacking skin, that's just Rapunzel putting out a small flame that sparked at her fingertips. Biiiiig smile. ]
Thank you!

Right. Here's what you need to do: you need to find a contained, fire-proof place to practice your powers until you can reasonably use them without becoming a fire hazard. And perhaps carry an extinguisher around with you until you get them under control. You could set fire to a lot worse than books.
video;
[ A beat, a long one, and then, squinting a little at the screen. ]
What's an extinguisher?
video;

Okay, first off - I'm gonna second everyone that's suggested a fire extinguisher. Those become invaluable, and second, that's probably a side effect of your superpowers. Did you check out your file?

[ This is her face dropping down into her free hand, so the next bit is going to absolutely come out muffled, because Rapunzel. ]
And I honestly thought finding out I'd been kidnapped would be the most surprising thing that happened today.

video;
[This boy has no experience with fire suppression whatsoever.]
video;
That would probably look a little weird, don't you think?
[ This girl has very little. ]
video;
video;
That looks like some pretty volatile fire magic. You didn't have that kind of power before coming here, I take?
video;
I'm okay! See? Turns out I'm fire proof? [ Rapunzel holds up a hand for the camera for emphasis, no sign of burns other than the soot. ] How amazing is THAT??? I mean... it's not amazing that I set my favorite book on fire... but- I'm thinking positive!
