SUPER SMASHED BROS

PRESS RELEASE FROM AEGIS FORCE: Setting the record straight on the misinformation and rumour that has been circulating from tabloid press, Aegis is stating for the record that there was no clash between Agent Archie and the superhero known as 'Apollo' in Nonah last month. There was no hostile encounter between the two imPorts, and in fact they went out for coffee with one another after this chance meeting.

Furthermore, the fugitive ARMITAGE HUX is now in custody, after having turned himself in to face the charges against him. Hux will face the standard sentence of power nullification and supervised probation for imPort criminals.

A SIMPLY SAFE HOUSE

ImPorts come in all shapes and sizes, and the impact they can leave on this world is not limited by their age. This was proved today, when two teenage imPorts announced their plans to build five safehouses for Native civilians, one in each Porter city, stocked with food and medical supplies, to be utilized in the event of an ImPort-caused emergency or natural disaster. Izuku Midoriya and Momo Yaoyorozu, also known by their Hero names Deku and Creati, say that they have learned from both their home world and from their time on this Earth that those in power need to look after those without. The safe houses, called Anzen’na Hinansho (Japanese for Safe Haven), come equipped with hotlines to both the Justice League and Aegis Force headquarters, and Midoriya and Yaoyorozu have stated that they will include the contact information of any other ImPorts who wish to volunteer their services.

When reached for comment, Deku said, “We always wanted to do something for the citizens that have welcomed us into their home, and since things often get dangerous in the cities we wanted people to have a place to feel safe and protected. And it felt like a good way to honor our teacher, who always tried to be there for everyone before he retired.” Creati added, “Our teacher taught us to always take care of those who need help, and to do it with open arms and a smile. This is our way of honoring him, even though his time on this world was brief.”

UPSTANDING CITIZEN'S BRIGADE
As seen in the Heropa Daily in print and online, and Iris West's blog Central Citizen:
We’ve all seen and heard of the efforts undertaken by Aegis, and may have witnessed them in action, yet we know little about the people behind these efforts, let alone what brought them together. To shed light on their motivations, as well as to understand what kept Aegis returning to tackle challenge after challenge, reporter Iris West visited Helix Station to sit down with a few members and listen to their stories.

Despite their varied backgrounds – members held disparate occupations including healers, Jedis, Marines, Guardians, and former military officials – they cooperated with each other because of a shared belief and cause.

“We're all motivated by the drive to make this world a better, safer place,” said Akobi, noting that everyone works well together.

Psychopomp echoed this sentiment as well, telling Iris, “While Fate hath bound me to this land, I must fight for it.”

Nearly everyone mentioned this cohesion in some aspect; however, Luke Skywalker’s take was especially poignant. He admitted, “I could have easily struck out on my own, try to do good by myself. But I feel like it's right for me to be here; I feel I can help more when it's not just me reaching out to others.”

“It's a way to do some good,” Ashley Williams agreed, when asked about Aegis's potential. ”I never asked for powers, but... this is a way I can use it to help people.”

“Aegis is different,” leader Jacob Taylor explained, when describing its differences from RISE or native law enforcement. “We answer to officials who answer to the public, and that motivates us to be at our best every day. In return, the government gives us the kind of resources and support that independent heroes almost never have. We're organized, accountable, and fully equipped to take on the big challenges- the kind that threaten entire cities.”

While Aegis works in tandem with the government, supporting federal and state efforts where possible, its members have spearheaded programs that aim to support imPorts growing into their powers, whether through training efforts or talk therapy.

Archie in particular plans to start a program to help imPorts reform. “Doesn't seem fair to assume poorly of people who could've just been lashing out in fear,” he said, upon discussing the program.

Lester Papadopoulos will take a different angle, focusing on art and music therapy. “Sometimes they just need an outlet, you know? If we all took advantage of therapy, in all its forms, and supporting each other like we should… then maybe we would have less of a need for a group like Aegis.”

While it seems like imPort-on-imPort conflict may be around for some time, we can at least count on Aegis - and the support of each and every member involved - to fight those efforts and keep their communities safe.
