[ Annnnnd they're back, those fluffy little buggers from about a month or so ago. They're a little bigger now, though not by much. It's gotta be mostly all that fur. And they're super playful, as seen with Nate trying to follow them with the camera as they're running around and pouncing on one another in the spacious corner boxed off in the living room where he's kind of gotten some baby gates linked together. ]

Hey, so for those of you who had put holds on taking one of these guys, the vet's given the All Clear. They all checked out as healthy, their shots are up to date, and everything else seems good.

Head's up that I'm only around after 5 weekdays but I'm available all day most weekends. If you gotta, y'know, arrange a specific pick up time. I can also swing by on my lunch hour, too, if you need.

Let me know whatever works.

Goodness! They are coming into their fur so well! And they're getting bigger, how adorable.

They have so much fur that now you need two hands to hold them. They no longer fit in your one palm.

[ She's gonna die crying!! ]

I have spent a lot of time since our last conversation reading about proper care for cats. They certainly seem like a lot more work than most people say, but I am still interested! My housemates have cats as well and would be around for any questions I have.

[ Please don't do that, Nate and people crying don't mix well. Just like Nate and commitment and domestic relationships. ]

You've done your research? That's great. You're more prepared than I was. I can't tell you how many sleepless nights I had the first week I brought them home. But I think you'll do better than me, and your little guy won't be alone if your housemates also have pets.

Oh, dear! Perhaps you will have an easier time sleeping now.

[ She nods. ]

I think so. But I must keep the kitten away from the cats for at least a week, no? That's what it said about introducing them to one another.

Here's hoping. Unless the one I keep with the puppy cause overnight trouble.

[ Though, he doubts it. ]

I don't see why you can't introduce them right away. Maybe put the other cats away in a room for the first hour to let the kitten roam and get used to the layout of your place? Then bring them out one by one so the little one doesn't get tag teamed?

They won't fight if they don't recognize each other's scents?

Oh my. Is there anything there other than fur?

[Because wow they certainly are fluffy! Not to mentioned extremely adorable, but he's not going to say that out loud.]

I can come pick one up after work today.

Pretty sure it's all fur. You're going to need a brush.

[ Nate would totally admit to their adorableness. It can't be helped. ]

Great. I'll be here. I might be off a little earlier than usual just to make sure they're good to go. I already have bags packed for each of them to start you off.

[The Jedi chuckled and nodded once he got Nathan's address.]

All right, I will see you then.

[He would then cut the feed.

Several hours later, the man was true to his word. Once he had finished teaching his last fencing class, Obi-Wan made his way over. Thus there would be a knock at Nathan's door.]

[ Nate was there answering, a tail wagging Labrador retriever at his side, red collar around her neck. She'd been trained well, sitting when told, tail still wagging. Around six months old now, she was almost no longer a puppy. ]

Hey, come on in.

[ Moving aside, he made room with the dog for his guest to enter. ]

[When Nate answered the door, Obi-Wan smiled and dipped his head politely. That’s when he took notice of the dog.]

Well hello there. Who might you be?

[He recognized it as a dog as it was hard not to notice these abundant creatures people here liked to keep as pets along with cats. He didn’t have much experience with them though. The Jedi then stepped inside.]

It’s good to meet you and your friend in person.

Her name is Vicky.

[ Hearing her name and she was on all fours, no longer sitting, her tail wagging all the more. Nate had a feeling she was waiting for him to next speak the special W-word. ]

We've had her since Christmas. She seems really happy to meet you.

[Chuckling lightly he looked back down at the dog.]

They are rather friendly creatures, and yours is very well mannered. You must train her well.

[It was good to see that there were those who cared for their animals well. Nate has already proven that with the kittens, but Vicky only confirmed it.]

They're so small.

You should’ve seen them a month back. I was scared to pick one of them up.

Yeah? I think I'd be the same way. The only pet I've got a handle on is a three-headed dog and definitely not fragile.

[ A small pause. ] They're really cute. Do they all have homes already?

A three-headed dog... Like a cerberus?

[ He hums. ] Only two have responded to pick up the ones they wanted. I still need to get in touch with the others. I can get back to you if pick up is confirmed?

It should be illegal for cats to be this cute.

[There's an annoyed meow and a black, one-eyed cat comes into view. Futaba laughs, petting the cat.]

Oops. Sorry, Justine.

It should also be illegal for cats to look like little clouds with all that fur.

[ Man, seems everyone’s got a pet around here. A lot more cat owners than he thought. ]

Even the black cats can be cute.

Definitely criminal. Too bad we all like how cute they are.

There's going to be more to them than just how cute they are. They just gotta grow a little more.

Have you even checked if these people know how to care for cats?

[ Yeah, so... Catra has grown weirdly protective of cats. Shush. ]

Well, only two people so far who wanted one have spoken up for them. They seem to have done their homework.

[ And besides look at Obi-Wan, if the man can keep up the maintenance on that magnificent beard and stache, the man's good to take care of a cat. ]

I still can't believe you became a crazy cat lady.

I guess that's what happens when you can't discover ancient ruins and climb cliff sides, working a 9 to 5 job. And hey, you're also a big part of this. Just saying.

I am not responsible for your cat lady-ness. If you'll recall, I'm not a fan of the cats.

How can you not be a fan? If I recall, you share the same need for helping the defenseless.

So I'll donate to a shelter. Nate, we've got more animals than people in the house now.

It's hard to keep track of who comes and who goes. I thought we were full up with people.

I guess that's true.

Did you ever have a pet before? I never figured you for the type, considering your line of work. But it turns out you're a cat person and a dog person.

No, no pets. Even before I got into my line of work, I was still moving around a lot.

[ Plus. Orphanages. Sister Catherine would've had his head. ]

I like dogs. Just never had a good opportunity to get one. As for cats... [ A little shrug. ] They grew on me.

I can tell.

[She smiles at him fondly.]

As long as you take responsibility for any hairballs, I suppose I can live with the straggler. They are all pretty cute.

Cats are growing on me. They're really charming, aren't they? [Just cover him in kittens and Darth Vader will never be a thing.]
