001 ✗ you adjust your reason, until you see the light from where you are
[ When Jean turns on the Network, there is a sedate seriousness to her. Calm expression even as her bright green eyes were conflicted, still more than a little distracted processing what has happened, while she shifted and started as simply as she could. ]
Hello, I’ve been told that new arrivals are encouraged to reach out and see if anyone else they know has already come here. My name is Jean Grey, and I come from another Earth.
[ It is at least half true, and more besides. She’s used to complicated truths, and the bending walls of time and reality and the far reaches of the Omniverse. Jean doesn’t always love it, but it could be worse. It could be so much worse. Everything she’s touched and sensed since waking has not been anywhere near as bad as some of the times she’d woken. From the ocean, the ground, alternate universes, future timelines, past ones, completely outside of all of them. ]
I'm seeking any of my family and friends who might already be here.
I’d, also, like to reach out to those currently running things. I would like to learn more about what has been happening here the last few years, and to the world I heard came before this one, at least to the best of my ability. I appreciate anyone’s help that would be willing.

Should be sent. As for the guy who kept it up to date... He sort of ported out a while ago. I can send you the Network IDs of some people in charge of areas teams though.

it's the one he should've known, though. the one who the x-men strove to do right by. ]
My name's Josh. I'm, uh, [ not either of those things, or an x-men, he rubs the back of his neck. ] from your world too, I think...
Re: video.
[ The phrase is parroted back, but there's nothing just a simple, gentle curiosity to it. To the trail off of his voice and the posture that looks almost like reluctance or chagrin. She can't be sure from here, and she doesn't recognize the face, but there's something more there. ]
video.
[ actually, now that he thinks about it. ]
I was the kid who woke Magma up and blew up the medical wing. I don't know if you were, um... [ around. dead. most of what happened when he'd first come to the school had been a terrifying whirlwind of change and he'd been too focused on himself to pay much attention to anything else. ] I wasn't gold then.

If you meet people from home, though, they might be different than you expect. [Her tone suggests she's speaking from experience.]

[ If she doesn't look entirely unsurprised,
learning more is at least half education as it is preparation. ]

Of course, different points in time can cause that too, depending on how much has happened.

[ The possibly filling up spaces only silent hope, mixed with the hope for others to be left untouched by whatever this was, shifting, changing, growing different features. The possibility of more of them, beside the possibility of no one else, and while Gabby was undeniably going to survive most anything that happened to her, it didn't mean she should be thrown somewhere alone across the lines of the universes either. ]

[She isn’t bothered by the idea, she’s just checking. Besides Laura, no one’s come from her world and also recognized her.
Her smile dims a little and she shakes her head.]
Just me. Laura was here a while ago, but she was ported out and I was left behind.
[She knows it’s not Laura’s fault, but she can’t help but feel a little resentful. She doesn’t like being alone.]

You grew up.
[ That's assuming this is the same Jean Grey who helped Bean round up metal mantises a few months back. ]

But she cannot place this face. ]
Well, one usually does not grow down or backward.
At least where I come from.
Do I know you?
Or did I?
[ He wouldn't be the first to mention there was another her. ]

You were here before. Or, there was a person here before with your name who looked like you, only a lot younger.

I'm Laurie Collins.
Re: video;
How long have you been here? Are you from then?
video;
I only made it a little past M-Day, if that... I don't know if that'll mean anything to you.

I would like to know more about the details.
Especially if this is not that world, but it's in the same place.

Georgia Mason. A pleasure to meet you, Ms. Grey, despite the unfortunate circumstances.

[ Then, in case. ] Do you prefer Miss Mason?
