These clothes fit just fine when I bought them in May. They haven't shrunk. [ He glances down at himself, tugging at the hem of his shirt idly. ]

I'm not doing this on purpose. The Porter gave me the ability to change size, but this isn't— [ He stops, looks back to the camera. ] This isn't me.

[ With his question asked, he retrieves the camera and ends the feed. No need to keep his weird body on video any longer than he has to. ]

Huh. I've seen a lot of kids hit their growth spurts, but that's kind of a lot for just two months. [ There's a pause. ] Then again, I'm Japanese, and so were most of the other kids. If we have less height to gain, we're probably not going to gain it as fast? [ She doesn't sound sure of this at all. ] Anyway, westerners are so tall, I wouldn't be surprised if your body is just deciding now's a good time to catch up with your lineage.

I've only ever known one Japanese kid back home, but he was always taller than me too. Maybe he was an outlier...

[ It certainly doesn't feel like a normal growth spurt, despite the fact that most of the people replying seem to think that's all it is. Not that Bean would know what a normal growth spurt feels like, never having had one before. But when you spend your whole life being smaller than a boy your age should be, it's... odd, to start to catch up. ]

I can reach the kitchen cabinets now. Without a footstool, or climbing up on the counter.

[ That's a roundabout way of saying "yes I feel strange." ]

That's a lot at once, but it's probably nothing to worry about. [Norman smiles.] I've been growing a lot too. [His current shirt is actually a size too large - bought in anticipation of it fitting in the not-too-distant future.

But just in case it isn't a growth spurt...] Have you Ported out recently, though? That could have affected your powers.

I ported out a few months ago. Came back after a year and a half, my world's time. I was taller than I was when I left, and I haven't stopped growing since.
