[ The post is made some time during the afternoon. When Ruby's voice starts - several seconds later than is should - she sounds out of it and quite concerned. ]

Uuhm. Uh. So. I have a weird question. [ A pause. ] Is it normal... Or maybe even uncommon but still a thing to. [ A second pause, but this one a little longer than before. When she speaks again, she sounds exceedingly confused. ] Is it normal to walk out of dentist's office with more teeth than you entered with?

[ Okay, she also sounds a little distressed. ]

The last time I had proper medical care, uh... Not including the whole teeth cleaning they did here before telling me about the appointment for more work... I was like six? I think? I don't know??

I just don't know if it's normal to come out with so many teeth as this. And they're all in my mouth. I didn't steal a fist-full of teeth or anything like that. They're just. There.

I- [ There is a sharp yelp and soon after the sounds of Ruby yelling, in mostly Japanese about 'stupid curbs' and a great number of rude things before the audio cuts out. ]




[ Several hours - at least six - later there's a text post added to the post that says 'Apparently this world is also way more advanced in dental care than my own is. Good to know.' with no other context ]

First time I went, I didn't come out with more teeth, but I did some out with straighter, whiter teeth.

[Because braces aren't a thing in Tamriel, nor is there a great concern with teeth looking white.]

That's normal. I think. It is in my world? I think? I've seen people talk about teeth straightening and whitening aaand. [ A paaaaause. ] No. nothing about new teeth just growing while you're asleep.

Wait. Are these even real teeth? [ There is a moment of silence followed by what is most likely Ruby chomping really hard. There's a small 'oh my god'. ] My mouth is numb.

We don't have mages in my world, just dentists and dental hygienists. You're supposed to see one twice a year but I wasn't able to see one after I was six or seven.

[And now he just grins.] Only the best kind of berry juice! It's maybe by stuffing a bunch of berries into a shuckle's shell, plugging it up and letting it ferment for a while. Then you unplug and pour it out.

I've had it before. It tastes alright. Kinda sweet though.

Ha! I have a history of being able to function while high! [ She sounds so triumphant, then pauses. ] Comparatively, and based on whatever we were doing at the time. There's just some stuff you kinda fail to be able to tell reality for? You know?

I didn't know they would dope me. I thought the mask was for oxygen. I think I was wondering why I would need oxygen but. Well I was unconscious really fast. I figured that it would be easier to go to a dentist than to go to a normal doctor, because I thought they could do things with uh... [ She switches to {Japanese}, completely forgetting that the reason she's speaking in English at all is so that people can understand her (because she forgot that the nanites translate). ] {Local anesthetic. I thought they were just going to jab my mouth with a needle or something and I'd sit there ready to run if they tried anythin' funny.}

[ She sounds so completely put out about the fact that things didn't go how she thought they would. ]

They said they were going to fix all my teeth. Maybe, maaaybe that. Means even the ones I didn't have anymore? [ There's a moment of pause. ] I wonder if this means they can give people teeth they never had... [ She sounds a bit awed by the idea, and what she says next just goes to support that. ] Maybe they could make a person covered in teeth, like armor.

It's okay. Sometimes people realise things are too powerful to be unleashed on the world. This is probably one of those things. [ She says this with the assuredness that only a high teenager can muster. ]
