[ The video runs for a few seconds in silence, a plant stand with succulents and flowers sitting along the shelves visible at the edge of the screen. After some quiet shuffling, Haru appears, light but mostly faded bruising on her face, though she looks completely refreshed compared to the last time anyone had run into her.
Her expression is pensive, even as she speaks it's readily apparent she's bothered by whatever it is weighing on her mind as her tone adopts her concern. ]
It's been a long couple of weeks, hasn't it? First that ship called the Death Star appearing and now something about small, strange rocks? It doesn't seem as if anyone has discovered the source behind all this.
And, well... I wanted to bring this up sooner to the network, although after the Death Star I was quite out of it myself. [ A split-second pause. ] However, after the mention of a Peter Narga recently and his interest in imPorts, I was curious to know more about him and maybe contact him given all the rumors circulating around him.
I wasn't able to find out much. He's a difficult man to locate, apparently. His status is listed as "on the run", which was certainly worrisome, but... [ Haru's head tilts to the side, her gaze drifting away temporarily. ] There was something a user said to me online that bothered me. They said that the American government did want to make imPorts their soldiers, but it wasn't to fight the Russians or take down the OTO.
They said, "It knows it needs to make America strong because something bigger is coming."
[ Her gaze lifts, focused on the screen once more. This time, a deep furrow forms in her brow. ]
Unfortunately, I'm not sure what this user meant or if what they were saying is anywhere near the truth. They refused to message me when I inquired further, cutting off contact. However, I felt this was something everyone deserved to hear regardless with the things happening lately.
I'm sorry I couldn't find out more.

[ But it's probably hard not to be. ]
... though I wouldn't blame anyone for feeling so.

[He pauses.]
If it IS true, though, I just... worry. For the people who came here and just wanted to live a peaceful life as much as they could. Or who came from worlds where they've never been through battles, or war, or having to be a hero.

Like shit wasn't already complicated enough. Haru, do you still have any info on them? Logs from talking to them? Maybe I can trace it, although it'd take a lot more time than it used to.
audio
[ Haru's not the best with the internet, but she can do that much. ]
You are welcome to trace it again. My friend did that, but wasn't able to find anything.

[ If another diviner-type couldn’t find anything, Cassandra’s not sure she can. Especially with her reduced power set. ]
And- what sort of forum? [ What does Haru do online? Frilly fashion blog? Small business research? ]

I'll keep an ear to the ground, see if I can smoke out this guy. Nobody can run forever. I can add him to my list of personas non gratas.

At least he's casual about it.]

So forgive me for being the village idiot here, seriously I've only been here a couple of days, but do you guys think asking the government lackeys about it is feasible? Sure, they might lie, but it'll tell us something, right?
Because if it is something 'bigger' that they know about, why wouldn't they tell us? It'd give us some direction on what to learn and how to use our powers. To prepare. So if they don't tell us, then there's got to be a reason for it. If they want us to fight something, why withhold information that would help us do that unless it reflects badly on them or they want us to fight but not win?
[ Remembers Jake's use of cannon fodder and says 'no thank you' to himself.]
Other option being that anon guy is either delusional or full of shit, which is still useful. Because if we want to know what's going on, then figuring out why we're being lied to by them is important. What's the end goal for dropping that info?
audio
No, that is alright. It's not a silly question. [ She's not the best at explaining any of this, but she'll try. ] It's possible even the American government may not know precisely what it is coming, just that there's a danger out there that can be presented to us.
[ A pause. ]
And they may not want to alarm imPorts any further than we tend to be. Although, governments aren't always honest or open with the public either.
I'm sorry, I don't know what the goal was or if there was one. I was looking for Narga the whole time.
Audio
Hell, it might be something one of us has dealt with before, and then they'd have an actual answer.
Yeah, I more asked the goal thing because it's something for everybody to think about. Not like I can answer it either. I'm still learning basic shit here.

Don't suppose any of your contacts know why Narga's on the run exactly? Or who from?
video
[ Better safe than sorry. ]
Not exactly, but he was very vocal in the past as a critic of the government here. Supposedly he ran anti-government rallies.
no subject
That's not worrying at all.
[ /Sarcasm!! ]
Thank you for doing all this digging, by the way. If there's a chance that any of it's true then this kind of research will be invaluable.

I guess that would explain a few things, if it's true. Funny thing is, I kind of hope the bigger thing is Atropos. I hate to imagine what else it could be.

[ The nice man from a while back who at least told her about Peter Narga. ]
I'm not sure I would want either, but... I do wonder as well. What could be more dangerous than a Fate? A god? Or are they the same?

[Georgia's both sarcastic and serious. This sort of thing is what she lives for. Destroying those who want to abuse their power.]
What site was this on? Did you have any reason to believe they knew what they were talking about?
video
[ Which is why she stumbled upon it, otherwise Haru can be awful with the internet. ]
It's hard to say, but... we don't know what brought about the Death Star's appearance or how the moon vanished without it affecting the tides. I don't know enough about the OTO admittedly, but do they have that sort of power?

This? It was when Futaba-chan and I went up to the Death Star. It's not so bad. It should be healed in another few days.
