Text; blue skies, nothing but blue skies
I've apparently missed two and a half decades, between what year it was for me yesterday and what year it is, here and now. And to be honest, I wasn't exactly around for a half dozen years before that.
Point is, I need to play catchup. Can anyone tell me what sort of TV and music I've missed out on? Is No Doubt still a thing? What about Nirvana? Anyone got any recommendations for movies I should rent from Blockbuster?
Oh, and they've made me a flight instructor, so I guess if there's anyone who knows specifically the advancements planes have made in the past twenty-five years, definitely let me know.

Uh... some bad news about Nirvana though. Kurt Cobain died. Some of the band went on to make a group called The Foo Fighters, they're still around.
And Blockbuster is completely dead. Well, I think there might be, like, a store still using that name in Alaska or something. Most things are DvD or digital now.
Also, where do I sign up for piloting lessons?
[Frustratingly, he's lost his piloting skills. AGAIN. Seriously, he needs to brush up before he needs to steal another plane. Which happens a lot in his life. Why does that happen a lot in his life?]

That's really too bad about Cobain. He was so troubled, though, I guess it's not that surprising that things shook out that way. I'll definitely check the Foo Fighters out.
Digital movies, huh? I guess I'll believe it when I see it.
Come on down to Heropa Airfield and I'll take you up. You ever flown before?
no subject
I've flown a few times. Various planes. Usually on borrowed knowledge. I'll tell you that I'm very good at crashing them and surviving.

Mostly it's just that computers keep getting more and more involved in keeping track of stuff. You can practically program a 737 to fly from New York to LA by itself.
no subject
Aw, but where's the fun in letting a computer do all the flying for you?
no subject
I'm just saying that technology does a lot more. No more worrying that your artificial horizon isn't floating properly, for instance. But there's also a lot more around you.

[He's so proud of himself. For Johnny, this is the most lucid and normal he's been all week, and he's doing a genuinely good thing, too. Who wouldn't be thrilled to know foodtrucks have continued to flourish well into the 21st century?]

They make fun of it being gone on the internet, but I don't really get why.

As for your mention of being a flight instructor, have you spoken with Poe Dameron yet?

I think someone with that name replied to this posting. Is he the one flying F-22 Raptors?

A lot.
Yes, but Gwen is mostly a solo act now.
Kurt Cobain died, and Nirvana with him. Dave Grohl moved on to about 15 different bands.
Blockbuster is dead as well; look up Netflix. [Or whatever the MoM equivalent is.]
text;
Is her solo work any good?
Netflix? I'll have to check it out.
