[Like most any other time, Darin's broadcasting from his forge which...well, it's certainly gotten bigger. In the last few months, Darin's annexed two more warehouses adjacent to the one his forge started in, turning the place into a surprisingly large complex.]

So, I've been giving it a lot of thought and, as amazing and talented as I am, even I have limitations to the amount of work I can put out. This place is growing faster than I ever dreamed and I think it's about time I do what has to be done.

So Darin Altway's Masterworks is hiring!

Do you have a passion for creating weapons, armor, and gear for your fellow imPorts? Do you just enjoy tinkering and doing repairs? Do you like science, engineering, and technology? Are you excited by the prospect of building a functioning beam saber?

Then I could definitely use your help. I'm looking for a few people to help me keep up with the orders I receive around here, as well as invent new, safe technology and gear that can help imPorts with the various crap that seems to be thrown at us every other week.

If you're hired, consider the Forge at your disposal to make and test whatever you see fit in your personal time. Also, I pay well.

[So. Keith has zero blacksmith or engineering or technological background or skills. His experience with weapons is the end user side of things -- and by now he's fairly talented in that space anyway, at least with blades.

He has nothing even remotely useful for what Darin is looking for in this post. But here he is anyway. It helps that he likes the guy (and is grateful Darin doesn't hold a grudge for being dragged around by his kryptonite-rage-wolf that one time). Anyway.]

You've really got an impressive setup there. What sort of weapons are your specialty?

[A pause and he adds, vaguely sheepish.] Sorry. Guess that's not exactly helpful with the whole... looking for workers thing.

Don't worry about it, you think I'd ever turn down a reason to talk shop?

[It was funny. The first time he'd met Keith, it was when he'd come by his stall at FanPort to look over his wares. Deja vu.]

Well, the world I come from would be the equivalent of high fantasy or the middle ages in your world. Sword and sorcery and all that. I grew up specializing in traditional bladed weapons and armor, but when I arrived here, I realized I had to step up my game if I was going to be competitive in the market.

Not a lot of people like swords anymore except for display.

That's not to say I can't forge a blade that could cut through a car, I've just...expanded what I can make now.

Makes sense, yeah. There are... a lot of different timelines here.

So the variety is probably good for that. But... I like swords.

[He has a solid bias, and there's a little spark in his eyes at the words. Through a car you say. Keith clearly has a sword bias. His mother's blade, every bayard he's wielded, it's swords all the way down.]

Swords, huh? I've got swords. I've been making swords for the better part of my life.

In fact, the weapon I made to gain my Master rank in my guild was a sword so sharp it sang when you swung it.

I'm handy with them myself. I traditionally make what you would call Western style swords but I've been versed in eastern style as well. I wield a dao broadsword myself.

It's always been good but being ported out made me realize I can't just leave my customers in the lurch like that.

Plus, with my work with Aegis and now the time I need to take out to train my abilities...well, I'm only one man, you know?

It just seemed logical with all of the work I've had on my plate. And now I need to take time out to train my new powers and it wouldn't be responsible of me to leave my customers hanging, right?

...Besides, collaboration usually leads to better results anyway.

I figured that buying the sword and some junkers and then slicing the junkers while filming it for Bluetube would be good, and then we could hold a raffle for charity to let people slice cars in half that were going to be scraped anyway.
