[So when the video clicks on, it's of a short latina who is wearing a red shirt with a cartoon vampire in between the words 'Morning Sucks' on it. She's got a big smile and a wave and when she talks, she kind of doesn't stop for breath.]
Hey, so I know that you're all like super sick of these sort of 'oh god help me why am I here please let me go back to my own reality!' posts, but yeah, here's another one. I'm definitely kinda a hypocrite like that but I've definitely got some questions.
[A beat.]
So first? Multiverse, super cool, amirite? I mean like as long as we don't go all Mirrorverse and like grow goatees and stuff like that. Not really a huge fan of facial hair. Like on me. Beards are fine, you do you, but I'd rather not need to deal with that. I don't think I've got the chin for it.
[And Ella just strokes said chin, and her eyes go slightly distant as she considers it.]
Right, so like second real question. Have people had any actual luck changing jobs? I mean, don't get me wrong, being paid to hug people is super cool and totally up my alley but I like worked really hard to get my degree in forensic science, and I'm actually super good at my job and stuff and don't wanna have them skillz [you can hear that z in there] go all stale for like lack of use.
So yeah, anyway, I'm Ella. It's really nice to meet ya. And if anyone's got a good rec for a lady friendly comic book store, let ya girl know. I mean, I know we're living in like a super hero reality, but I bet that they have some really neat stuff in here. And ya know pulls.
[And then she just clicks off because Ella knows herself and she knows how gets and doesn't wanna seem too weird her first time on the network.]

I haven't bothered to try yet, but I've been encouraged by a friend to start making use of my medical experience, so I'll let you know if that goes well.

And there are a lot of organizations willing to take on Imports.
[ Have a gently smiling Oliver. It is a barely-there smile, but she reminds him of some people he knows, so it is there, nonetheless. ]

So would organizations be like... the police or do I need to look for ya know a private firm.
[A pause.]

Hi Ella! It's Eve. [As if she can't see her.] You getting paid to hug people sounds really great, you're such a good hugger! What's the multiverse?
no subject
Hey Eve! Wow, it's cool that you're here too! [It's clear that she means it because she does.]
The multiverse is when there's all these different universes in the same place. Like here.

As others have said, changing jobs here isn't an issue. I didn't even start at my assigned position before finding another one when I arrived.

Miss Lopez! I can't say anything about changing jobs, but if you need a recommendation from me, all you've got to do is ask.

[ Marco here to answer the real questions, and being from 2000 he's definitely noticed how the gender ratio of open geeks has shifted. Not that it's a problem. ]
If you want something funny, there are imPort inspired comic books. Those are hilarious.
And since we've expanded from video games to board games and movies, I guess I can say I tend to host nerd get togethers if you're interested. Last time it was mostly video games, if that's your thing.
no subject
[Yep, Ella's just gonna make a face. Vegas. She doesn't do Vegas anymore.]
I'll definitely need to add imPort ones to my pull list. Any other recs?
And yeah, I'm totally interested. Us nerds gotta stick together, right?
Dunmo' tay'

I love that shirt. And I, for one, don't mind these posts. I'm a bit too new, myself, to be of much help, but it does make me feel loads better about how confused I was when I first got here. ...admittedly, I'm still a little confused.
Let me know, though, how it goes with the switching jobs? Mine's obnoxious.

Is hugging really a job here though? That's... heartwarming, really. But I can see why you'd be concerned for your skill...z going to rust a bit without use. I do hope you find something more suitable.

That said, imPorts changing jobs seems to be something most employers expect, so they give you very little hassle about it.
You shouldn't have too much trouble finding something in your preferred field.
