[ It has taken Lan Wangji a while to figure out how to use his communicator, and he only really started the attempt once he decided it might be of use to him. So he hasn’t been paying attention to the network, much. Forgive him. Now, though, he has questions that he cannot divine the answers to himself.
He needs a basis of knowledge here that he just doesn’t have.
He doesn’t know how to lock this from Wei Wuxian so he... just hopes the man doesn’t see it. ]
Questions:
Inner power - cultivated or gifted?
If cultivated: remains the same from home?
If given: boon or bane?
If granted a curse, is cure to be found?
Further questions:
How long imprisoned without dungeon or whip? Freedom only through chance - any hope of choice?
Availability of lotus seeds?
Best wine?

He's not sure he likes it. ]
Direct communication already.
What benefit given from linking to mind?
Speed of thought unequal to speed of wisdom.

[And... it kind of reminds him of the way meaning emerges and solidifies from the tangle of thought... when he's reading minds. You know, no big.]

"Will not use more words when four will suffice".
[ People often called his language poetic, though he finds the language here less capable of retaining as much meaning per word as he would prefer. ]

His actions could speak for him.
... Except over text messages. ]
Silence often preferred.
Connection exhausting, regardless of syllables.

But perhaps thanks to the way that text allows for greater length of thought between utterances, he does, in fact, eventually reply. ]
Other option solitude.
[ He couldn't be verbose if he tried. ]
Precise of word, precise of thought. Clarity cuts fog.
