Right. Guess that makes sense.

I'd help you out, but I don't really have any experience with script writing. I mean, I guess you can say I have experience with acting and wearing prosthetics, but I'm not looking for work right now and a lack of actors doesn't seem to be your current issue.

You know about prosthetics?

I'm a lizard person wearing a bunch of fancy prosthetics to look like human. Of course I know about prosthetics.

Right, right, right... It's not some other fancy alien technology?

I mean, it's the most cutting edge prosthetic technology my people have, but it's still prosthetics.

[He pulls off the mask to show him.]

See? We use holograms in the eyes to give a human appearance there, but the rest of it's all practical effects. Prosthetics are really the best way to give that impression of 'completely real', from being able to reach out and touch someone's face and having the right texture to having realistic and naturally flowing movements.

[He's peering at the screen very closely right now.]

Yes... Hmm... Something I've been working on, actually. Incorporating all of the senses involving hard light tech and more advanced procedurally generated holographics.

While practical effects have their uses they also can be time consuming and limited.

Yeah, but with anything like that you have to make sure that everything's exactly right. Anything moves slightly off, and people's brains will instantly flag it as 'not real', at least on a subconscious level.

Not with my technology they won't.

[He's confident.]

In fact it will be their very minds that convince them of its reality.

Okay, now I'm a bit curious about this.

[He sends the address and says he will be waiting. He doesn't need to do much setting up but he does make sure everything is in order and ready for when Jonathan arrives.]

[He arrives shortly, or as shortly as he can since he has to take the porter due to being in Heropa when this conversation began, and knocks on the door.]

[Dressed casually, Beck opens the door and greets Jonathan with a charming smile and a hand out for a handshake, if he'll take it.]

Come in, come in...

[The place looks fairly neat. There are two computers set up on a table over to the side with various tech parts scattered around as if there's some ongoing work in progress. He has a decent sized television facing a comfortable couch in the middle of the room and another table is off to the side upon which there are some plaster casts of faces.]

[Jonathan enters and takes a look around, eying the tech with some interest, wanting to get closer to see what it does and how it works, until he spots the plaster casts, and that piques his curiosity. Heading over to them, he has a look.]

What are these for?

A special effects project. Currently on hold.

Huh. It kind of reminds me of the casts we get of our faces when they're making our suits.
