The moon and the Porter on it that would have stabilised our nanites had been temporarily replaced by a world destroying superweapon, native to the galaxy I come from. I led a small squadron of starfighters Ronan helped me build on a mission to disarm or destroy it.

Which began to fall apart on approach. That was the first time I saw nightwash. And likely the last time I'll be able to convince Ronan to fly with me.

They're different things. Aren't they. Flying is like driving. The vehicle becomes another body to inhabit, another machine with its own capabilities and limits to be explored. I pilot it however I choose. I use it to achieve goals otherwise beyond my reach.
