It's taken her some time to think about how she wanted to approach this, especially after Anakin threw himself into this new network last night. Before. ]

Good morning,

My name is Padmé Amidala, and I am newly arrived here. I have been informed that I've come here before, both earlier and later in my life, as well as that I held office for a long tenure as representative for one of your cities. I do not remember the days I've spent here, and I apologize for the complications and any hurt that may arrive with that.

[ She's still very much on the fence about how much she wants to find. Torn between her ingrained training to prepare herself with as much information as possible, in case of any situation she might find herself in, and that of whether she should know all that might still be coming for her future if these other persons were indeed some version of herself she would still grow into.

The weight of a known or unknown future. Whether that changes it.
The freedom to still experience her to-come tribulations and triumphs first hand. ]

I do welcome contact from anyone who knew me in times before. I understand that it will take time and will require much delicacy, but I would very much like to hear from you if you are willing. I would also love to learn as much as I can about the governance of this new world that it sounds as I was very passionate about.

[ Again, and always. Drawn to that stage. To the representation and protection of others.

But now to somewhere that wasn't Naboo, or for Naboo, that wasn't remembered, but somewhere, somewhen, she'd forged a deep enough connection to this place, that she rose to challenge of serving these people of as her own, too, even if she couldn't remember those circumstances that lead her to such feelings.]

[Harry stares at the screen for a long few minutes before he turns on the camera and grins shaking his head with a smile. What even is his life in this world? seriously what?]

Welcome to Earth, Miss Amidala. It's an interesting place especially this version verse I hope you like it here.

[Harry waves a hand at her, and offers a grin. He's sitting behind a desk with papers on it and it's a nice office, a quiet one, Though you can't really tell that from the screen. It's his teacher's office at H.O.P.E., and as he looks through the camera, he finds that absolutely fitting.]

I didn't know the you's that were previously here, but if I can be of assistance in any way, please let me know. I'm called Harry Dresden.

[ Padmé has no context for the joviality of the first face to appear as a response, and as expected it's not a familiar one. Not even for the hundreds, thousands, she has memorized for the Senate. Within it is the feeling, deeply, of having to start from scratch in a way she's never had to before. Without any preparation for the position she finds herself suddenly in. ]

A pleasure, Mr. Dresden, and thank you. I may need quite a bit of help in the coming days as I learn your world.

[ He smiles, and nods, glancing down at his paper-laden desk, then blinks, eyes going wide and snaps his fingers. He starts to speak, and as he does, he gets more enthusiastic as he goes. ]

I work at a place that works to help Imports, especially young ones, and educate them on the world, and things involved in living here. I think some of the books and knowledge here might just be useful to you in putting things together.

[Jadus' voice is as calm and detached as ever. It's never clear from his tone whether his mind is elsewhere, or if he devotes almost too much focus to his words.]

What is the last event of significance that preceded your arrival?

[ Her look turns wary and watchful by his second sentence, familiar words from unfamiliar mouths. Explaining things that don't quite make as much sense as she'd like them to before she handed any something without understanding what its purpose might serve. ]

What do you do with the information once you've gathered it?

[ And, just where or when was he from, if he knew their time, enough to claim he wasn't of it, and yet used the words that very much only earned one response from all those who knew of the Sith in their time. ]

[622 has a few years of accelerated growth between him and most clones deployed in the early days of the Clone Wars, but the face is still unmistakable to those who know it.]

Welcome to Earth, Senator. Please be aware that due to our unique circumstances, there is a standing truce between all factions originating from our galaxy. [He still doubts it would hold if any of them were actually capable of dying here, but if it keeps civilians safe, that's almost good enough.]

[ Her expression changes a little, narrowing not in judgment, but a touch of surprise to see a familiar face among the pile of messages all from utterly new people. Still, the words of greeting splay evenly into words that could be freely given, new information as much a warning. Which surprises her, because neutrality is not something that is going well among the options back home. It's usually the step before several falls, and the rare saves from that fall when people are there to step in. ]

How well do all the factions here follow that mandate?

Major incidents are rare. [He couldn't think of any deaths in maybe as much as a year, but that didn't mean you could trust all of them. Especially not when there was more you could do to hurt someone than that.]

Unlawful killing has occurred, but no open conflict since before my time here.

[ Another unfamiliar, and yet still friendly face, Padmé lets herself smile gently and give a slight nod to the woman who has appeared on her screen. ]

It's nice to meet you, Ella.

I am uncertain as yet to the events which led to my service here, but I can only assume I must have grown to hold it in great esteem to make that choice. It is not a choice I've ever made lightly, and speaks very highly of this place, even if I can't remember the details.

[ His mother was back too. He should be happy; with his family back together, maybe things would pick up again and they could find something like peace here in between the world tilting on its head every now and then. But he still wasn't quite okay from losing so much he cared about at once, and now getting parts of it back, only to not be remembered. ]

[ It was why he took a moment to actually respond, though he couldn't manage to do it over video this time. ]

[ Padmé stared at the three words on the screens. The same words others had used, clarifying that they knew of her what she hadn't even chosen to say, but that was all forgotten at this moment entirely. As she stared at the three small words, and the ID above it. ]

Luke.

[ Four letters. A name she has turned over and over in her head, all night and all day—so many emotions in so many shades that have filled those two syllables. But the first time she's written it, before he's even said it. Because she's not sure she can pretend the screen of anything but honesty at first touch. There's so much she wants to say, ask, even apologize for.

It's hard, but she tries to start with simple and straight forward. ]

Nice to meet you Padmé, I'm Tenno. We didn't have a chance to meet, if you were here since I got here, but it's refreshing to see how open you are to learning about what you did.

I'm sure most people would just want to start fresh.

[ If the appearance is a little different, there is no flutter to Padme's expression or focus on the screen. Her daily life was filled with the many different beings their universe held. She does wonder for a moment if he's native, or also pulled from another place as well. It's not a long thought, as the words he speaks after her greet do pull her attention to them, and she nods, once, in civil, graceful acknowledgment of it, as she starts speaking. ]

Choosing to start fresh is an understandable longing, and even choice others might make, but I don't feel I can simply disregard the past actions I've taken, friends and allies I once had. The choices and consequences of those other lives lived, and the loss that has been felt by those who have lost those ties, even if I cannot remember losing them as well.

Deserved or not, I feel a responsibility to all of those choices, and all of those people.

[ Padmé's expression turns a touch regretful, though without shame. She has no fault in these circumstances, even if she feels a responsibility to taking the situation in hand from the beginning. The barest press of her lips before she begins, not so much at ease, but with a readiness what might come from the open door of the first person to know her. ]

I must apologize that I do not recognize you, Captain, but I do recognize the name.
I believe General Skywalker was recently placed in command of your battalion where I come from.

[ Which adds to her growing list the need to figure out how time is measured on this 'Earth' she has suddenly found herself on. There are any number of reasons she could and probably will need to know that, as well. ]

Once you're settled, you should think about teaching a course: how to be outstandingly gracious when apologizing for things ridiculously outside your control.

[ Were she someone else, she might take offense to the phrasing there. But Padmé has been privy to any number of attacks, public and private across her tenure in politics, and her response comes with zero hesitation, as well. She has been nothing if not in service the lives of others for more than half of her life for a reason. ]

Culpability is not required for compassion towards the plight of others, especially when you know that your very presence, fault or not, very likely will be the cause pain and considerable inconvenience, if not struggle, for a number of people.

Jane frowns a bit. She doesn’t look like the Padme she knew of when she watched those movies. She … does … look like the actress who portrayed her, but … No. This is too weird. She wonders if she will mention their uncanny resemblance. It’s like looking in a mirror, or given how Padme is probably a bit younger than her, like looking at an old photograph.

I can’t say that I knew you from before, but I guess, welcome back? If you go to any city hall, you should be able to find a lot of public records that detail how things work, past elections, and everything else. Same with any public post on this network. At the moment, we have a democratic republic going on here with local, state, and federal elections.

[ There's the presentiment of a blink, where anyone else in the world might have said "oh" in some surprise, but this is not the first time Padmé has been presented with a person in front of her who looks eerily just like her. It has been some years though. Dormé, Cordé, and Versé had some similarities, but none nearly as close as Yané, Rabé, Saché, and Sabé, especially as her near-perfect double, had to be to Amidala.

She recovers herself smoothly, given her training kept her surprise from showing much. Still her eyes trace a face that has her features, and her heart longed, in unexpected ache, for Sabé.Especially at this reminder drawing home the fact that they were not a galaxy, but a universe, apart now. ]

We have very much the same where I come from, though on a broader Galaxy-wide perspective.

[ There's a name she had hoped to hear from, and if not now, already well planned that she would reach out to. How could she do anything less, the woman being who she was. The daughter of one of the most trusted people in her life? That was not an advent for avoidance. Not when it was all too easy to picture it after looking at her conversation with Anakin.

Leia Organa. Prepossessing heiress that had come to be in sometime beyond when she'd been, fulling both Breha's matriarchal line and speaking with a politic directness to her speech that could not help but remind Padmé of Bail. If with a touch more fire than either of her parents' resolute calm, in a way that was entirely her own.

Padme touched the video to open it back up. ]

Thank you, Leia. [ She gave only a moment's pause, before smiling. ]
