[The typical Godot scenario: set up on a sofa with a cup of coffee. He looks a little tense today for some reason, though tries to calm himself with a few sips of coffee before he speaks.]

In the wake of Mr. Edgeworth's departure, I believe it's important to have Import representation on both sides of the law. Therefore, I will be resigning my position at the public defender's office, and am in the process of transferring over to the prosecutor's office for the city of Heropa.

[Siiiip.]

As a registered Import, I intend to prioritize cases involving other Imports. This means that if you break the law, your name will find its way across my desk. This does not mean that I'll be pulling any extra strings or going any easier on you should that be the case. So let's just all do our best to behave ourselves, shall we?

It also seems appropriate that I should offer my services to those who may come from different worlds and cultures, and who might have some questions and concerns as to how our legal system operates. Ask, and be served.

[An uncharacteristic pause goes here.]

[With no further discussion on how all of a sudden he's going by a different name, the broadcast ends.]

Such a harsh legal system with no good exceptions is quite boring. Why defend against murder if it's justified. [His bitter about this subject. It's not a real question though, he knows there is a moral system and people care about eachother, he's not naive to that. Hisoka even cares for people in his own way. He's just mad he can't get away with killing people here as easily as back home.]

Yes that's what makes a job like 'attorney' viable. Though you're only good after the fact. [Muses to himself. What is the point to an attorney when it's a mass murder. When so many people die. He supposes revenge. Is it truly just revenge, do they really think they can teach people a lesson? Do something bad enough and you most likely had a true purpose doing it, you believe it to be your version of 'right'.]

Who would this make the defender of imports be then?

Heropa seems a little dry for that.

You'd think to pick somewhere a bit more lively when it comes to mortal law.

Well now, it isn't as though a prosecutor enjoys bringing charges. Ideally, I'd have nothing to charge at all.

Were you thinking of having some avenue of access for people to reach you with those questions over time? Or just asking for people to pass along your name if we run into anyone who can use the clarifications.

My box is always open for such questions.

Of course, now that I'm working for the city, my capacity to personally consult with specific cases is a little murky. I can answer basic questions, but I also know several other lawyers who could consult or represent on a personal basis.

More backing away from personal cases - just questions in general. The legal system here isn't all intuitive. It's not... really equivalent to the sort of military court I'm familiar with elsewhere.

Still, having a list of names for those who'd be relevant if needing representation would be good.

[That's offered with a bit of a sideways smile, and his next statement is much quieter in tone.]

I'm sorry. I hope you aren't too disappointed in me.

But I feel like it's important to have someone in the prosecutor's office, and I intend to do my best whatever side of the courtroom I'm standing on.

Now, now, Ms. Armstrong. Let's not speak ill of the departed.

Someone has to stuff their collar so the rest of us may play the cool, relaxed, carefree parts.

[That's definitely surprising to hear, though even more surprising that he's actually going by his actual name. But there's no need to mope around here, so Maya flashes a huge grin towards him.]

I don't know about that, amiga. I'm a bit of a lone wolf type. Give me a little while to settle into the job and I'll see if I need an assistant or not.

Have you found it common that imports get in trouble with the law here?

Not especially common. But there have been a few high-profile cases, and our status here makes things a little sticky.

It's a good idea to have someone in the position to help keep things spic and span.
