Greetings, friends! This technology is amazing, isn't it? That is...if I am using it correctly?

[He can't help laughing as a small ferret climbs up the back of his robe and settles on his shoulder.]

Now, now, you need to behave. Are you hungry? [Leaning his head to the side, he nuzzles the small creature and, adorably, the ferret closes their eyes as if enjoying the contact.]

[ She laughs, then remembers her manners and gives a little bow to the screen. ]

I don't think it's a cat... [But she is adorable, isn't she? Meng Yao beams at her, returning the bow.]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Mistress Momo. [He rubs the ferret's head with one finger.] How old are you?

[ Momo holds up one full hand and presses a single finger into the palm. ]

I'm this many!

If it's not a cat, what is it?

I'm not sure, but they sort of remind me of weasels? [And they are very affectionate!] Six! Are you with your parents?

They are sort of like weasels!

[ That's apparently funny enough to earn a laugh, before Momo shakes her head no. ]

Mmn. My mother and father are probably still in Japan. I don't know what I'm doing here in America, but I think this room is supposed to be mine? There's pieces of paper with my name on it.

They're not vicious.

[Even when they gnaw on his fingers, they are gentle about it.]

Japan? Maybe? I'm not sure why I'm here in...America...either. I didn't know this country existed until today.

[ Didn't know America existed? That's weird. Momo's only six and she still knows about other countries. ]

[ His name sounds Chinese, but even someone from China still ought to know about America. ]

They are! I'm glad they like me so much. [He lifts the ferret pair up for her to see.]

Ah... I am a servant of the Nie sect and I reside in the Unclean Realm.

[China is...pretty much it for him and his companions. They don't know of other countries.]

Look at them! [ This might be the cutest thing Momo's ever seen! ] Are they brother and sister?

I'm not sure? [They are two girls, actually. He thought they were two boys when he purchased them, but what a cute surprise!] I don't think it matters much. They are not old enough to mate.

Do they have names?

[ If they're Meng-san's pets, then they ought to have names.

At the mention of forging weaponry, Momo's face lights up in a way that it probably shouldn't, for a six year old child. ]

What kind of weapons? I can make weapons too, but Mother and Father say I shouldn't make any weapons until I'm older. They say I should stick to making easy things that can't hurt people until I have better control of my quirk. But once I'm old enough, I'm going to learn how to make all kinds of weapons and tools! I'm going to be a pro Hero like my parents!

I see... Hua and Hui. Those are female names, I believe. Perhaps they are both girls?

[He had the foresight to give them little collars.

Her reaction is less of a nice surprise. Why does she know about weapons? Someone has not been protecting her as they should.]

Is it hard to make a real sword that's sharp and everything? I've only ever made toy ones.

It's not always simple. [He nods with a small smile.] It takes a lot of sharpening. Every sword is different; special.

When I'm older, I'm going to make swords that are super sharp, and they'll be able to cut anything!

[ She's completely missing the emotional turmoil behind his words, happy just to talk about creating things. ]

Why do you need swords in the first place? Is your home at war?

[Or is she being manipulated into thinking the idea is good?]

No, but I'm going to need to make lots of weapons if I'm going to fight villains and be a pro Hero like my mother and father!

That is truly an occupation? There are heroes in my world, but it is not generally thought of as a profession - more as a mark of extreme valor.

Heroes are people who get paid to use their quirks to help save innocent lives! They help the police track down and stop villains!
