Do some of you experiment with chemicals to create new substances?

I knew a man who created a formula which could reveal gold within water. It saved much time in searching or panning yet the chemicals were highly acidic and burned the skin.

There no longer seems to be any call for such a chemical but I am curious about other fascinating uses for these scientific wonders.

Or perhaps for medicinal purposes.

I would very much like to discuss the modern findings of any scientists, chemists or doctors that are here.

I'm an engineer kinda. Mechanics and electronics mostly.

Mostly improved upon past designs but I've been tinkering with things being here. Porter tech aside...things are extremely primitive from what I'm used to. More trying to recreate I suppose.

Very much so. I haven't been planet bound...ever. People have had hyperspace travel for thousands of years where I'm from. My arm-

[ Anakin tugs his glove off and pulls his sleeve up to below the elbow - but it's still a mechanical elbow clearly. ]

-no one from here can come close to this much less the cybetnetics of it.

I had to recreate all my tools even because to work on my arm, for repairs or improvements, I barely had the spanners!

Mostly. There are some plasisteel parts, mostly coating the wiring, and silicone around the seals. It's water resistant, more so with my glove on, not not watery proof.

[ He starts working his sleeve back down and pulling the glove on - there isn't a difference in how it moves from a biological arm. ]

I lost it in a duel less than a year ago, in the first battle of the War.

I'm a Jedi Knight. We aren't supposed to be soldiers, but the Republic needs us to be right now.

[personal profile] kraythero 2020-06-20 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Ah. I guess? I haven't really looked into the history of knights from this world. We're normally peacekeepers, negotiators. Provide protection for rulers, senators, so on if needed. Rescues. I mean we are all combat trained and luckily for me, trained in sword work in both hands, even if we aren't naturally ambidextrous.

Yeah.

I'm good in combat. But it's strange seeing the Order all in armor, directing soldiers. It's not what I thought we'd be.

The Outer Rim, where I'm from, I heard tales of Jedi, of unkillable space wizards who wielded laser swords, could read your mind and the future, and hurl rocks the size of borders with their mind. Not someone many thought of not listening to, really.

[ He laughs a little, because that reputation did make people fall in line. Most of the time. ]

Honestly, it's mostly talking people into doing what's best for everyone.

I don't really work with chemicals, but I could tell you about some of the stuff I do study, if you're interested in astronomy.

I'd like to hear more about that formula and why it was created. Besides the obvious.

[personal profile] bifroster 2020-06-21 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh, magic words!]

Awesome! Let's see, where should we start? Um, what do you know about astronomy?

I don't blame him for wanting to keep that a secret. How did building that society turn out?

Oh, yeah, that would take a while.

[Not to mention it had to be done carefully enough that the economy wasn't tanked.]

Oh! I know exactly where you guys are then! Would you like to see some pictures of the eighth planet from the sun? And some updated pictures of the moon?

What do you want? Gold? That shit's useless.

I have to make my own grenades, I'm sure I could figure my way out around one. Why, is that illegal here?

Right. Gold Guy.

Yeah. I make 'em with my sweat.
hot_handed: (idk angry about something)

[personal profile] hot_handed 2020-06-20 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
What, you turning anything to gold's normal? It's like nitroglycerin. But it ain't.
hot_handed: (he mad)

[personal profile] hot_handed 2020-06-20 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
It's dangerous for you! I have complete control over it!

Do you want a bomb or not?

[personal profile] hot_handed 2020-06-25 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I already got the most expensive parts right here. [He shows his palm, where beads of an oily liquid have begun to form.]

I can build you a bomb. Don't need nothing for it.

I don't fucking think, I know. This is a part of me more than that shitty mustache is part of you. It's like an extra limb. If I didn't know how to control it, we'd all be dead by now.

I'm very skilled in alchemy for all sorts of usies. It can be risky to learn, but it's well worth the rewardie!

The elements I use pop up in different placies here than at homie, but I've still been able to put them to usie to make my magicites.

Magicities--this one's a Cure magicitie, for healing injuries. I can make ones for fire and ice and electricity too--it's just a matter of collecting the right essencies.

The spherie is a kind of energy made into a solid you can hold in your handie. Then you use your own energies to break the solidity and release the spellie.
